As the inventor and manufacturer of a specific type of early warning systems, the ice early warning systems, Boschung Group can indeed confirm the positive impacts in economic and ecological terms, and eventually on the lives of road users. On our humble level of counteracting climate-related disasters, our systems find their applications with the global environmental changes: while having winters with less snow than some decades ago, we still have many winter days with temperatures close to 0°C and rapid reactions to the risk of ice creation are always necessary. Besides winter operations our stations and sensors for can also be applied to warmer climates and provide major information on atmospheric and road conditions. #IEWS #roadsafety

In light of the recent extreme climate events that are affecting my country, Italy, and many others, I can't help but reflect on the urgent need for better national policies to adapt to our changing environment. Local governments, regional administrations have to be key drivers of adaptation since many interventions take place at the local and regional level and are context-specific. I want to share this super well-done set of guidelines published today by the European Commission to assist Member States in updating and implementing comprehensive national adaptation strategies, plans and policies.
