#FrictionStirWelding is a mature technology for welding parts. In just 4 steps, you can easily perform FSW on your CNC machine 👇 1️⃣ First step: Clamping. To begin the welding process, you need to clamp your parts. There are 2 mains configurations for friction stir welding: butt welding (one part next to the other) and lap welding (one part on top of the other). 2️⃣ Second step: The tool rotates and plunges into the material. The FSW tool is composed of a pin and a shoulder. At the beginning, the tool start the rotation and the pin sinks into the piece to start mixing the material. 3️⃣ Third step: Welding operation. The tool moves forward, following the seam to weld the parts. 4️⃣ Last step: The tool rises vertically. At the end of the process, the friction stir welding tool rises vertically and the weld is done.
