Here's a #jobapportunity like no other: the #imec tenure track! Apply till 15 November. I'd apply myself if I had a great #research idea ๐ If you are lucky enough to have an idea ๐ก, this is what you could get: โก your own research team consisting of 2 PhD students and a postdoc โก financial resources โก a permanent work contract โก access to state-of-the-art infrastructure as the imec cleanroom and research labs โก and free coffee, lots of free coffee This is not university related. There's no professorship behind this #tenuretrack. So... it's better ๐ No exams to make, no lectures to give, just research ๐ Here is what the previous two tenurees (that's not an actual word, right, tenuree? ๐ค)... the previous two tenured researchers are doing: Johanna Bolander - innovating next generation organoid models based on integrated nanotechnology platforms to decode fibrosis Christian Haffner - innovating next generation integrated electro-optical technologies for communications and sensing I wonder who my next tenured colleague will be. Who knows, maybe they end up using my ESD lab ๐ More info and applications are here: https://lnkd.in/eRSdVN85

Meet our Excellence Clusters' Coordinators, who share their views on the following question: Cluster 1 is a new form of dynamic collaboration among research teams, forming the common core of the research under the topic of "Advanced biomaterials and technologies for health". Inter-institutional integration will enhance the sharing of knowledge and skills among the clusterโs members and our international partners to drive researchers to intra-EU mobility. Through established partnerships and international networks, we will increase the visibility of our Institute in the European arena and acquire academic and business links for more effective European grant applications.โ - highlights Prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Michota-Kamiลska, Coordinator of the Advanced biomaterials and technologies for health Cluster. โOur cluster brings together teams and experts specializing in cutting-edge optics, photonics, and the applications of light-matter interactions in chemistry, biology, and medicine. This encompasses both fundamental and applied research, including the development of modern fiber optic lasers, optical devices for eye examinations, spectroscopic and microscopic devices, as well as advancements in spectroscopy, microscopy, and the creation of innovative light-based chemical and biochemical sensors. Thanks to such diversity, while still sharing a common research focusโthe interaction of light with matterโour close cooperation enables us to create synergies. This not only accelerates our scientific progress but also helps forge a more coherent and influential scientific community, ambitious and capable of addressing key challenges in modern science and technology.โ - states dr Sylwester Gawinkowski, Coordinator of the Photonics and light-driven processes Cluster. โThe values of any disruptive collaboration are priceless, especially in this case when we are coming from the same โhome-familyโ. In our cluster, we have a real interdisciplinary research teams who guarantee dealing with a plethora of complex situations affecting our society, environment, and, of course, economy. Letโs know each other much better under the same rooth, and go out perfectly prepared.โ โ emphasizes Prof. dr hab. Juan Carlos Colmenares Quintero, Coordinator of the Catalysis and materials for sustainable transformations Cluster. Photos: dr Karol Karnowski.
