According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, damaged joint cartilage is a leading cause of disability in #aging adults, leading to accelerated loss of function and the potential development of osteoarthritis (OA). To address this issue, CytexOrtho, a preclinical medical device company working to advance orthopedic treatment options for people with OA, developed a patented tissue implant using 3D printing technology that restores and preserves joints instead of replacing them.
