Our Recent Assessments on Women Empowerment and Youth Employment in Afghanistan At TAGHEER, we understand the pivotal role of female entrepreneurs and youth in driving Afghanistan’s economic future. Through our assessment in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Bamiyan, Kandahar, and Nangarhar, we identified key barriers faced by women, including low literacy, resource constraints, and regulatory challenges. To tackle these issues, we recommend targeted literacy and entrepreneurship programs, as well as dedicated marketplaces and SEED funding for women-led businesses. Our Youth Labor Market and Competency Assessment revealed that only 34% of graduates enter the workforce, underscoring a significant skills gap in agricultural value chains. Training in crop cultivation, pest management, and digital marketing can equip young entrepreneurs with the tools they need for success. By bridging these educational gaps and fostering supportive networks, we can unlock the full potential of women and youth in Afghanistan. In case you want to learn more about the economy and jobs in Afghanistan to create a prosperous future, TAGHEER is your trusted partner... #TAGHEER #WomenEmpowerment #YouthEntrepreneurship #EconomicDevelopment #Afghanistan

No war is justified. It kills humanity Disclaimer: Think of these views as my own little stand-up routine – personal, possibly amusing, but definitely not Oxfam's official script. So credit (or blame) goes only to me.
To strengthen Bangladesh's Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) sector, which covers 90 per cent of all enterprises, the SME Foundation and Oxfam in Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for SMEs to empower their businesses, promote and influence the ecosystem, and enhance financial inclusion. The MoU, signed at the SME Foundation in Dhaka today, marked a significant step towards enhancing business support services and entrepreneurship development programmes for SMEs. Thanks to Professor Dr Md Masudur Rahman, Chairperson of SME Foundation and Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation, for signing the MoU and hosting us today. Happy Independence Day, Pakistan! Quaid-e-Azam's vision was more than just the creation of a new nation—it was a blueprint for a progressive, inclusive, and resilient society. Today, as we celebrate the independence that he fought so hard for, let's ask ourselves: Are we living up to the ideals that our founding father envisioned? It wasn't just about freedom. Quaid wanted a Pakistan where every citizen had the opportunity to thrive, where justice prevailed, and where diversity was celebrated as a strength, not a division. So, how do we measure up? Are we fostering unity, education, and innovation as he dreamed? Or are we losing sight of the path he laid out? As we wave our flags and feel the pride in our hearts, let’s remember that the true essence of independence lies in carrying forward the mission of our great leader. It’s in our hands to turn this vision into reality. Let’s make every action count— for a stronger, more united Pakistan. #IndependenceDay #PakistanZindabad #QuaidEAzam #UnityFaithDiscipline #VisionForPakistan #ProgressAndProsperity #PakistanIndependenceDay #StrongerTogether #NationBuilding #TogetherWeCan

🚀 **Empowering Sudanese Women Entrepreneurs in Uganda** 🌍 As building networks and strengthening the sisterhood is part of our mission, our founder Mariam B M Nalumansi today had the privilege of speaking with a group of inspiring Sudanese sisters who are taking bold steps to establish businesses in Uganda. Their resilience and determination are truly remarkable. Here are a few key insights I shared with them: 1. **Understanding the Market**: It’s crucial to research and adapt to the local Ugandan market. Identifying gaps and tailoring products or services to local needs can be the key to success. 2. **Leveraging Unique Skills**: These women have rich cultural and culinary traditions that can be powerful assets. Turning their heritage into marketable products could set them apart. 3. **Building Networks**: I encouraged them to form alliances and actively engage with local communities. Networking with other entrepreneurs can open doors and create opportunities. 4. **Accessing Resources**: There are NGOs and local programs in Uganda designed to support sisters and women entrepreneurs. Tapping into these resources can provide essential support. 5. **Embracing Resilience**: These sisters have already overcome incredible challenges. Their journey has equipped them with the resilience needed to thrive in business. This experience reminded me of the incredible potential that lies within every woman, no matter the circumstances. Let’s continue to support and uplift each other on this entrepreneurial journey! 💪🏽 #WomenInBusiness #Entrepreneurship #SisterhoodSupport #Uganda #Empowerment #SudaneseWomen

77 years of Independence. A journey marked by triumphs and trials. We've witnessed resilience, innovation, and a spirit that's unbreakable. Yet, shadows persist. The dream of a Pakistan where every child has access to education remains elusive. The exodus of our brightest minds is a stark reality. As we celebrate our freedom, let’s also commit to building a Pakistan where potential knows no bounds. A Pakistan where our youth are equipped with knowledge, not just dreams. A Pakistan that's a magnet for talent, not a launching pad. Let's honor our heroes by turning challenges into opportunities. Let's create a Pakistan where every citizen, regardless of background, can thrive. Together, we can build a nation that's not just independent, but prosperous and equitable. #IndependenceDayPakistan #EducationForAll #StopBrainDrain #PakistanZindabad #ProgressNotPromises #InvestInPakistan #Empowerment #YouthOfPakistan #StrongerTogether

Caption: STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS We intend to change this state of the economy by thinking “outside the box”; a paradigm shift away from reliance on primary commodity export to focusing on value addition with the private sector as the engine to drive the economy. Under my Administration, the empowerment of Liberian entrepreneurship through more support will help bring back THE MADE IN LIBERIA quest for inclusive and sustainable growth and jobs. In our quest to expand the economy, we will leverage Information Communication Technology (ICT) in creating jobs, especially for our youth. To achieve this, my Administration will train up to 10,000 young people in various digital skills in the first half of 2024. The Liberian middle-class goal must be a reality in the next 6 years.
