Sustainability is at the core of who we are: it is embedded in our purpose, in our products...in our naming. Within our key role in the Company’s decarbonization path, we are proud to share the following as part of many achievements : ➡ The SUSTAINera label launched at global level in 2022, covers all the Stellantis' initiatives in Circular Economy, implementing the 4R strategy throughout the full vehicle life cycle - REMAN, REPAIR, REUSE, RECYCLE - including a wide dedicated offer of sustainable and affordable aftersales parts, without compromising quality. ➡ In 2023, we recycled over two million parts. A memorandum of understanding has been signed with Orano for Electric Vehicle Batteries recycling. The Valorauto car recycling service has been launched in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, with the objective of expanding soon to other countries. ➡ The leading SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub has been opened in Mirafiori, Italy. It focuses on engine, gearbox, and EV battery remanufacturing, vehicle reconditioning, and dismantling. 💪 Febelauto is ready for the ‘big’ work! The amendment to the environmental agreement on the mandatory take-back of traction batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles has been signed by the Flemish (30/10/23) and Walloon Region (15/02/24) and Febelauto's member organisations. 🔋⚡🚚 🚌 🏍 In practical terms, this means that we are officially ready for the ‘big’ work! Febelauto expands its scope, as we are now able to collect batteries from electrified trucks, buses, trailers and forklift trucks (category O), as well as those from mopeds and motorbikes (category L), with a view to sustainable recycling. Organising the recycling of batteries weighing more than 20 kg and with a voltage greater than 60 volts DC will become part of our daily work. 🇪🇺 The proposed ELV Regulation of the European Commission may not have been approved yet, it is already receiving well-deserved attention from OEMs and importers. Febelauto visited with Toyota Boshoku Europe N.V. and Bax & Company, recycling Groupe Comet . 🎯 If the EU regulation on ELV’s is approved, car manufacturers will need to incorporate recycled plastics from end-of-life vehicles by 2030 (6.25% plastic mass from ELVs and 18.75% from other post-consumer plastics). 🤝 Vehicle dismantlers and recyclers play a crucial role in advancing automotive circularity and collaboration with them is key. ♻️ The visitors were impressed by the strides in plastic shredding, sorting, and Groupe Comet’s advanced multipick line.
