Over 100 years ago we were pioneers in Remanufacturing, today we continue to push forward to new horizons: We are delighted to share the launch of new ♻RECYCLE products♻ to complete our SUSTAINera 4R offer Reman, Repair, Reuse, Recycle! As announced during the International Automotive Recycling Congress (#IARC), they are the first products of their kind available in the aftersales market, compliant with car manufacturer original specification and aligned with the most demanding standards set by OEMs : ✅ A windscreen washer fluid made of 100% regenerated alcohol from recycled industrial solvents, ✅ A cooling fluid made with mono ethylene glycol base 100% recycled from industrial production waste. On top, their packaging is made from minimum 50% of recycled plastic. True sustainable alternatives, these products have a lower environmental impact by reducing waste and using less new resources. Follow our channel for more information to come! #CircularEconomy #RECYCLE

Advanced mechanical recycling is revolutionizing the future of recycled plastic content production. Here’s how it works. Plastic waste is collected and recovered from any post-consumer waste stream, including residual mixed waste. The recovered plastic is processed with extensive pre-sorting and purification steps to ensure high-quality results. Its unique combination of advanced technologies includes: -Decontamination and label removal -Flake sorting into polymer types and color groups -Deodorization -Extrusion and pelletizing Advanced mechanical recycling is an energy-efficient method of plastic recycling. Unlike chemical recycling or plastic pyrolysis, it requires far less energy and has a smaller ecological footprint. This video is based on a state-of-the-art plant built in 2021 by TOMRA, Borealis, and Zimmermann. The facility processes plastics recovered from household waste using innovative, advanced mechanical recycling techniques. If you need any information on how TOMRA Recycling can help you achieve circular economy, contact me. #PlasticRecycling #CircularEconomy #TOMRA #FlakeSorting #Recycling https://lnkd.in/euP3RSxV

Interesting launch of a plastic PET container range partially derived from recycled CO2 This is achieved by having one of the two polymers, ie MEG, made from CO2 captured in factories The metrics are quite attractive with 22% CO2 emissions reduction in comparison to conventional PET #innovation #packaging #Carboncapture #Carbonreduction #cosmetics https://lnkd.in/eKBCi2ND

European recyclers were able to enforce higher prices for almost all standard recyclates in March 2024. Once more, they took advantage of the ongoing rise in virgin material contract prices, as this caused several processors to switch to recycled alternatives. Some secondary materials additionally benefitted from seasonal effects, at least to a certain extent. Still, demand generally remained below what would be considered normal levels. Recyclers therefore continued to tread carefully with regard to their output volumes. The general conditions are unlikely to change much in the weeks to come – the high price level of virgin grades will likely […] - #plastics #packaging #sustainablepackaging #packagingdesign

In many countries where there are no established plastic waste streams, plastics and other valuable materials are not collected, let alone recycled! This results in heavily polluted roadside ditches, rivers, and beaches. At Evonik we’re committed to supporting the plastics industry’s transformation into a circular economy, so we’re working with our partner WILDPLASTIC® to help them give new life to plastic litter by turning plastics recovered from the environment into recycled trash bags ♻. With the use of our polymer processing aid, TEGOMER® 6810 additive, we’ve been able to successfully define the impurities of the polyethylene source to enable blown film manufacturing. 👀 See the results in the images below and if you want to start adding more value to your waste streams and meet regulatory requirements, get in touch with our plastics experts. https://lnkd.in/dWYdTxyG #recycledplastics #BeatPlasticPollution #plastics #recycling #Recyclingheroes #sustainability #additives #PerformancestartsattheInterface #leadingbeyondchemistry

I have posted that post already few months ago, but because of the importance of the topic I guess it is worth to highlight it here again. As the ones of you who are active in the plastics and packaging business might of course know, in the planned PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) in the European Union is planned to set a mandatory recyclate content in plastic packaging. I'm normally not a big fan of too much regulation. But in this case I think it really makes sense. In my perspective such a mandatory recyclate content can significantly support and accelerate the transition to a circular economy for plastics. What is your opinion on that? #packaging #circulareconomy #recycling #plastics

♻️ Recycling is a challenging topic. The recyclability of packaging items strongly depends on their materials. While food contact materials like glass and metal can be infinitely recycled without the loss of quality or safety, products made from complex materials like plastics, paper and board, or a combination of them can only be recycled to a limited extent, if at all. Our fact sheets provide an introduction to the commonly used materials ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dNcSkXC For a deep dive into plastic recycling, read our dossier ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g5-WVPUJ

On this Global Recycling Day, let's highlight the innovative technologies that help keep plastic in the economy and out of our environment. Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim are leading the way in efficiently recycling post-consumer waste into high-quality recycled plastic. Herbold Meckesheim specializes in mechanical recycling systems that produce high-quality recyclates from all kinds of used plastics. These materials then move on to Coperion's equipment, where they are transformed into plastic pellets—the basic building blocks of plastic manufacturing. These recycled plastic pellets can then be molded into high-quality, more sustainable recycled products through equipment from our other brands that offer injection molding, extrusion, hot runners, and similar solutions.
