What is differences between putter head and chippers? Putters and chippers are both golf clubs designed for shots played around the green, but they have some key differences:  *Putter: Loft: Putters have a very low loft angle, typically between 2 and 4 degrees. This low loft keeps the ball rolling along the ground with minimal launch. Face Design: Putters have a flat face with a slight groove pattern to help with directional control and feel on short putts. Lie Angle: Putters have a lie angle that is more upright than other irons, typically around 70-73 degrees. This allows the golfer to stand more upright and promote a putting stroke with minimal wrist action. Purpose: Putters are primarily used for hitting the ball on the green to get it in the hole. They are not designed for distance or height control. *Chipper: Loft: Chippers have a higher loft angle than putters, typically between 35 and 45 degrees. This allows the ball to launch higher and carry farther than a putt.
