From website: "Everyone can sign the Read in Color® pledge indicating your commitment to read and share diverse books to amplify marginalized voices! Whether you are a Little Free Library steward, patron, book lover, or community member, you can have a role in celebrating diversity in your community. Read in Color starts with books, but the potential for engagement goes far beyond their pages. Read in Color® brings diverse books to Little Free Library book-sharing boxes around the world. Read in Color distributes books that provide perspectives on racism and social justice; celebrate BIPOC, LGBTQ , and other marginalized voices; and incorporate experiences from all identities for all readers. Only 46% of children’s books depict non-white characters. We believe everyone should be able to see themselves in the pages of a book. We also know that books can be a window into experiences that are different from our own. By reading diverse books, we can increase understanding, empathy, and inclusion. Sign the Read in Color Pledge! Check out what Read in Color pledge signers have shared about their commitment to diverse books."

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. This significant day honors the moment on June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the freedom of the last enslaved people, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all. As we reflect on this day, let's commit to fostering inclusivity, understanding, and respect within our communities and workplaces. Celebrating Juneteenth isn't just about recognizing the past; it's about building a future where freedom and opportunity are truly available to everyone. Let’s use this day to educate, engage, and take actionable steps toward a more equitable society. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality

Juneteenth is especially special for me as the mother of a smart and beautiful brown-skinned young lady. 🤎 Today commemorates the fall of slavery and reminds us of the ongoing journey towards justice and inclusivity. 🤝🏼 As we celebrate freedom, equality, and progress, let's embrace Juneteenth as an opportunity to learn, grow, and work together towards a more equitable future. 👇🏽 A few tips on how: ✅ Educate yourself: Learn about Juneteenth's history, significance, and achievements. Share your knowledge with others. ✅ Seek out and support black-owned businesses. Share your discoveries with your network. ✅ Engage in dialogue: Encourage open conversations about race, equality, and social (in)justice. Listen to others' experiences. ✅ Take action: Participate in local events, volunteer, or contribute to organizations promoting racial equality and justice. 🌟 Happy Juneteenth, LinkedIn Fam! ------------------------ #Juneteenth #Inclusion #Equality #DEI

🌈 As two leaders who are part of the LGBTQIIA community, celebrating Pride goes beyond just a party. It's about recognizing and addressing the varying levels of privilege within our community and understanding that the fight for rights is ongoing. It might have gotten better for some of us but not all of us. 🏳️🌈 ✨ Let's use our privilege to make a difference: -Engage in open conversations about gender identities, challenging harmful stereotypes and misconceptions. -Advocate for policies that protect the rights and well-being of all the individuals in our community. -Amplify the voices of those in our community who are experiencing heightened discrimination and support their issues. If you don’t know what those issues are - start there and learn more. -Show empathy and understanding, acknowledging that everyone's experience is unique. Let's stand together, embrace diversity, and create a more inclusive world. Acceptance needs to start from within our Community. Happy Pride, Calgary! 🌈❤️
