In honour of #InternationalWomensDay, new data are available on the gender representation among Canadian members of Parliament (MPs) and Cabinet: • The proportion of women among MPs has increased. • In 2023, 30.6% of MPs were women, compared with 20.6% in 1997. • In 2023, the proportions of women (48.7%) and men (51.3%) in Cabinet were comparable. So you could have done better on this. First of all, if you wanted to honour women, you would report women stats on top of men stats. In this case you put men on top of women. And it looks like you are reporting gender representation. In the top info graphic when you are really just reporting count. You say “increase” like it’s a achievement. Gender balance would be an achievment. You can do better #stats canada. 🇨🇦
