It's hot, isn't it? Hotter than usually in April. For everyone who thought Climate Change isn't a thing, give it up folks. But thankfully the majority of humans... ...have gotten on board and have started driving their emissions towards zero and are on a path that is net-positive to nature. As a business coach-consultant I was always curious to support clients who are making a positive difference here and realised - there's much I need to catch up on if I want to help businesses do just that. Thankfully my network is gigantic. And one of the coolest people that I know is Dominique Sievers. He's a world-class sustainability consultant based in Switzerland and I called him up because... well 2024 the EU decided that companies of a certain size now MUST actually declare and report on their emissions by the end of the year - damn! Yet tons of businesses are fairly new to this. So I said, let me call the coolest people in this space and open the conversation for CSOs, to-be CSOs, activists and the regular business owner. In this episode Dominique shares a couple of really helpful tools for people who are somewhat new to sustainability practices. Here are som highlights & problems you may encounter: - Compliance with new regulations - Absence of data to measure your impact - Data structuring challenges (got everything still on an excel sheet?) We're also talking about where sustainability actually creates a ton of value, thus opening up potential new income streams and cost savings. So here we are with a new season of the Powerhouse Podcast. Check it out. -> On Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/dByMaZpi -> On Spotify: https://lnkd.in/dWJqyCEP

How does my company take its first steps in this net-zero transition? As Karen Coyne, Terrascope’s Sustainability Advisor and this week’s esteemed ☕️🥐 Climate Cafe Podcast guest, very elegantly summarises: 1) Ensure there is management support and alignment for what you want to do 🛟 2) Look internally to see what resources (manpower, expertise etc) you have 🔧 3) Lay out a plan 📝 4) Look externally for other resources such as industry associations and collaborations 🤝🏼 Listen in as Karen shares extensively about her journey thus far in corporate decarbonisation, pitfalls and learnings, and sheds some light on what to look out for on the horizon within the sustainability space. I recommend this series of podcasts called Sustain/Ability, INC, produced by the @BCG which talks about how to reach #netzero by “building a new company ethos that embraces social as well as environmental wellbeing”.
