Many times I talk about this with founders. And when I say it, they keep looking at me as if I were an alien. So, you don't need to believe me. but you can believe in Rui Falcao, who has been investing in startups for so many years and inspiring many others (including myself) to do so. Yes, founders, you can and you should choose your investors. They can become true partners or a nightmare. If you ate talking to investors that want to make you feel that they are the only one choosing, take a step back, breathe and think twice.
The Reverse Pitch, (from investors to entrepreneurs) is one of the most appreciated initiatives by entrepreneurs. It puts entrepreneurs and investors at the same level. I believe in mutual choice. Business angels and investors choose the best entrepreneurs and the best startups, likewise entrepreneurs choose the best investors. It's a fair game. Like a love story. Two parts decide together the common journey. That is not only about money, is also about commitment, dialogue, creating value together for both parts. Exposing one self with everything, yes the own strengths and also the weaknesses. Canopy Community is a great place to share the entrepreneurial journey. I always feel happy and energized there. Thank you Stewart Noakes, good people, for inviting me. It is always a pleasure.
