🌱 Taking it slower in an age of hustle & productivity. In 2021, I angel-invested $100,000 into my friend, David Luu, MD's healthtech startup Hearty which is building in the longevity space. Doing a deep dive into the science of longevity made me reflect on my own time management & productivity. ⚖️ I've realised that being more intentional & taking it slower in an age of hustle & productivity is ok. Saying no to some opportunities, having better boundaries & taking my own time doesn't stop me achieving what I want from my career & life. 👩🏽⚕️During med school & as a young doctor, I used to wake up at 0500am to get ahead of the day & ahead of the perceived competition. I have decided to part ways with BASE life science. I have met many wonderful consultants there, and am looking forward to maintaining those relationships 🙂 Learnings: -I can network and build relationships successfully in all kinds of environments. -Consultancy came naturally. -Learned to say ‘no’ and to protect boundaries. -Learned and got confirmation of my strategic and leadership skills. -I can sell. -I can take an ambitious techy project, which I don’t know much about, understand it and put it fast into an organised, well working framework. -Teammates are everything. -Leadership is about listening to your teams, understanding their perspectives and implementing their input in a way that puts people's well-being first; right project deliverables and priorities second; and then the outcomes will follow. -Produced a multitude of implementable ‘AI in pharma’ use cases focused on increasing time-to-market. -I know my priorities and what drives me. I will not start regular work just yet… I plan to spend September empowering startups, sparring about AI, tech and innovation, and focusing on a few adventures that will be ready for the LinkedIn light some time from now ;) Have a great day!
