💡 Recommendations needed - Program co-creation I am looking for case studies / examples of (entrepreneurship) programs that were co-created with the community they aim to impact. I am specifically interested in programs that focus on supporting and empowering marginalized groups This could be in the form of participatory approaches and involvement of 👭 potential future or past program participants, 📢 grassroots and advocacy organizations or 👩💻 external consultants and experts that have deeper insights into the needs of a specific target group Any pointers or introductions are much appreciated! #CommunityCollaboration #InclusivePrograms #CoCreatingChange

A Malawian Silicon Valley is Possible through Collaboration and Advocacy! In the past week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Young Innovators Advocacy Workshop, hosted by Save the Children International in partnership with NxtGen Labs . This two-day event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from both government and private institutions, and it left me inspired and hopeful for the future. One crucial takeaway from this workshop was the power of advocacy. To make the world see what you believe in, you must strive to make them see the world through your eyes. Advocacy is about passionately sharing your vision and rallying others to join you on your journey. I also had the privilege of sitting on a panel where we discussed innovation and shared insights from my journey through the Future M Project. It was an incredible experience to exchange ideas and inspire fellow innovators. But the highlight of the workshop was pitching my idea for the Thanthwe Mental Health Chatbot. The constructive criticism and positive feedback I received were invaluable in refining my concept. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Chrispine Botha and his dedicated team for their unwavering support in fostering growth through the Future M Project. I'm also immensely grateful to NxtGen Labs for their mentorship and support, which has been instrumental in my journey. And last but not least, a special thanks to Mzuzu E-Hub for their tireless efforts in facilitating the Hackathon. We are growing because of your dedication. I can't forget to mention that we were honored to have Dr. Michael Zimba, an expert in Artificial Intelligence, grace our workshop with his presence and insights. His presence added immense value to our discussions. To my fellow innovators and all of you reading this, let's remember that a Malawian Silicon Valley is not just a dream; it's a goal we can achieve together through hard work and collaboration. #Innovation #Advocacy #MalawiSiliconValley #FutureMProject #Collaboration #aiexpert

Diving into the realm of Alzheimer's advocacy has been an eye-opening journey for me. Starting as a community educator, I had the privilege to connect with those directly affected by the disease, and their stories left an indelible mark on my heart. As I transitioned to roles of greater responsibility, including serving on the board, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this space. Each step has enriched my perspective, revealing the intricate layers of commitment, compassion, and innovation that operate #BehindHospitalWalls. It’s a reminder of how advocacy can not only change the lives of patients but also transform the advocates themselves. #AlzheimersAdvocacy #PersonalGrowthInMedicine

Advancing health equity for communities facing disproportionate health burdens requires meaningful collaboration. That’s why we’re excited to join the Pfizer Communities in Action for Health Equity grant program. Learn more about how community-led projects like ours are driving progress: bit.ly/3UexBJ8 Through this program, we will implement BLKHLTH Community Advocacy for Racial Equity School (CARES), a training program for undergraduate and graduate students on health career tracks who are interested in serving as health equity advocates for their local communities. 🫶🏾 Together, we’re working to address systemic drivers of health inequities and create lasting change. #HealthEquity #EquityInAction

I am thrilled to announce the launch of Season 4 of the Leaders in Pharmacy series. This season, we turn our spotlight towards the advocacy leaders who tirelessly champion the vocation of pharmacy and drive transformative change within the profession. Each week will profile a distinguished advocacy leader who makes/has made significant contributions through their advocacy efforts to influence policy, practice, and public perception of pharmacy. Effective advocacy plays a crucial role in advancing the profession. By bringing attention to key issues, influencing policy changes, and ensuring the profession is adequately represented in healthcare discussions, advocacy leaders do in essence help shape the future of pharmacy. The aim of this series is to highlight the journey and work of advocacy leaders to showcase how individual and collective efforts can lead to significant improvements in practice standards, patient care, and professional recognition. The goal is to inspire more pharmacy professionals to engage in advocacy work, whether through grassroots efforts, professional organizations, or policy-making processes. As in the previous series...will be featuring leaders from all over the world. Have recommendations?...tag them in the comments below. https://lnkd.in/gmCChxT4
