Hey LinkedIn Family, Is it common practice for hiring managers or recruiters to send screening interview questions without following up with an actual interview? I've had this happen three times recently, where I received detailed questions to answer, but it never led to a further interview. It’s not just 3-5 questions. It would be like 15-20! I'm curious to hear about others' experiences and insights on this. Is this a standard part of the screening process, or could there be other reasons behind it? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice! Because I am TIRED. #JobSearch #Recruiting #InterviewTips #HiringProcess #Jobseekers #HireMe #HiringManagers #Recruiters

🚨 Why has the job interview process become so scripted? 🚨 Everywhere I look, there are posts about "what NOT to say in an interview," "how to answer perfectly," "questions you MUST ask at the end." Why is this even necessary now? Just a few years back, interviews were about what you know and what you can bring to the table. No one was asking for rehearsed answers or judging your ability to follow some "interview script." Sure, it’s important to be prepared, but why has it become all about mastering the interview performance instead of focusing on the skills and value you bring? We shouldn't have to game the system to get hired. For the love of progress, let’s make this trend disappear. Let’s get back to honest conversations about what truly matters: what we know and how we can help. #JobInterviews #Hiring #Recruitment #HonestHiring #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #StopTheScript

🌟 Fail to Prepare or Prepare to Fail? 🌟 A good recruiter will prep their candidates for interviews. I don't mean just sending an email with interview confirmation, time, address, etc but actually spend time before the interview with the candidate. Interview prep SHOULD include insights into the interviewer's personality, some topics to focus on when preparing for potential questions that might be asked, and even mock questions live and offer feedback or different ways to word answers. I talk to many candidates who haven't interviewed in years and are nervous to start the process again. Remember, interviewing is like riding a bike - except people actually like riding bikes (we all know how draining the interview process can be). At aspexx. we pride ourselves in making the interview process seamless and easy for all our candidates to make your journey successful. 💪🚀 Do recruiters you work with prep you for your interviews? 🤔 Preparing for a competency-based interview? Here are some tips to help you ace it! 💡 Make sure you research the company and job role thoroughly. This will help you understand the skills and competencies they are looking for in a candidate. 🤩 Brush up on the key skills and competencies that the job requires and prepare examples of how you have demonstrated them in the past. 📝 Write down these examples and practice talking about them. 🚀 **Rethinking the Interview Process: Is it Time for a Portfolio-Based Approach?** The conventional interview process often focuses on resumes and theoretical questions, but is this the best way to assess real-world capabilities? 🤔 Imagine a shift where interviews prioritize **portfolios**, where candidates showcase **real projects** they've worked on. This would allow us to see how they tackle problems, their creativity, and their ability to follow through on complex tasks. Would this approach provide deeper insight into a candidate's skill set? Would it reduce biases and highlight practical competencies over credentials? Is now the right time to consider a **portfolio-based interview system** to better align hiring with real-world impact? 💡 #HiringTrends #InterviewProcess #TalentAcquisition #Portfolio

Eight Interviews. Seriously? Lately, I’ve been hearing more and more about candidates facing a grueling interview process—up to eight interviews—for in-house roles at major companies and renowned brands. We’re talking about professionals with stellar CVs and backgrounds with reputable companies. And yet, they endure a three-month-long application process, only to be told “no” at the end. And often, after all this effort, the role is filled internally! This is beyond frustrating; it’s a colossal waste of valuable time for everyone involved. Are we really at the point where it takes eight meetings to determine if someone is a good fit? There’s plenty more efficient ways to identify the right candidate. By the second or third interview, a well-designed task could easily separate those truly interested in the job from those who aren’t. Eight interviews is overkill. Shout out to anyone who has gone through this ordeal—what are your thoughts? And to those on the interviewing side, what’s your take on this exhaustive process? Come on, we can do better than this, surely? #Hiring #Recruitment #JobSearch #Efficiency
