Operations is such an interesting yet misunderstood role at early-stage startups. When we decided to go all-in on Resend, I remember telling my co-founder Bu Kinoshita that we should try to convince Jonni Lundy, an Ops Manager, to join us. Bu was skeptical at first because he didn't know this person or what he would do. After meeting with Jonni, Bu understood what he would bring to the table. Then, I told our YC partners that I was thinking about bringing this Ops person to the founding team, and they were categorically against it. After all, why would you bring an Ops person to a company that doesn't exist yet? We didn't follow their advice and decided to bring Jonni to the team anyway. It's been 20 months since we started the company now, and I can't imagine running Resend without his help. Today, he's starting a newsletter called Founding Ops Society, and I'm super excited to see him sharing more about the internals of an early-stage startup. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dbHHWgxF

Working in a startup can be challenging, especially when most of the IT industry enjoys Saturdays off. But in a startup, Saturdays are often another day to push forward, learn, and grow. 🚀 It might seem tough, but it’s a great opportunity to show your strength and dedication. Every extra hour is a chance to learn something new, take ownership, and make a bigger impact. The hustle is real, but so are the rewards. 💪 #StartupLife #SaturdayGrind #LearningEveryday #SoftwareEngineer #GrowthMindset #TechLife #StrengthInChallenges #ContinuousLearning

I got selected for the 2nd edition of Novolabs Startup School. 🚀 The brains behind the Startup School program are Tomás Volonté and Damian Sanchez, former NovoLabs founders who launched 50 MVPs for startups and gained invaluable insights, such as: - Validating that the problem I want to solve is real - Confirming there are potential customers for my proposed solution - Understanding my customer's needs deeply - Defining an MVP that I can launch quickly and affordably - Developing a Go-To-Market strategy to attract my first customers - Closing the initial sales for users to start using my MVP - Learning how to pitch and communicate my ideas - Pitching in front of angel investors This program is an incredible opportunity to pick up lessons from the challenges that other startups faced and Damian & Tomas have already figured out. This new edition kicks off on April 5th, and I'll be sharing the 14 weeks with 19 other teams. It'll provide invaluable insights for my career, and, of course, I might make mistakes, but hopefully fewer, haha.

Hey guys sharing a short story from Tom and Rachel. Give it a read. In the city of San Francisco, a small tech startup was born with a big idea - to transform how people connected online. The founders, Tom and Rachel, knew they needed a skilled engineer to turn their vision into reality. Enter Kate, the startup's first founding engineer. Kate brought more than just technical expertise to the table. With years of experience in software development and a passion for innovation, she was the perfect fit for the team. As the startup grew, Kate's role expanded beyond writing code. She became a leader, guiding the technical development of the product and inspiring her colleagues to push the boundaries of what was possible. Kate's impact on the startup's success was undeniable. Her dedication to the mission and her ability to solve complex problems were instrumental in driving the company forward. She wasn't just a founding engineer; she was a driving force behind the startup's journey.
