With a great honor, we announce and invite you to our one-day NEXTCCUS-Crete 2023 Workshop on Tuesday, 12 Sept. 2023, which will be held in Heraklion, Crete, Greece as a special event of the NanoBio 2023 annual conference. Renowned speakers will give talks in the area of CO2 utillisation towards clean fuels, ranging from new materials and catalysts, novel electrodes, catalytic reactions and mechanisms, up to electrocatalysis/ photo-electrocatalytic cells and reactors. The Workshop and the NEXTCCUS project are supported by the ERANET-ACT, an international R&I funding program for Accelerating CCS Technologies established by the European Commission under the H2020 programme for R&I. BotH2nia went to Germany - It is now worthwhile for the Nordics to learn to operate in the large German market. Some lessons from the trip by Dr. Minna Näsman: 1) Without a sufficient customer base, it is not worth implementing production solutions of the scale that the Germans gave examples of the need for. 2) Customers in need of hydrogen and electric fuels and feedstocks are already on the move in Germany and elsewhere in central Europe. 3) The Nordic hydrogen sector needs to become better known in Germany. 4) The time for alkaline electrolysers is now, high-temperature SOEC solutions will follow. 5) Cooperation between research institutes and universities as well as industry is a regional competitive advantage.
