Wondering what other patients, with #XLH or other rare conditions, do to keep everything organized. How do you collect everything in one place for easy access, and what do you collect? My preliminary thoughts in my blog here: https://lnkd.in/eF5xGhhH

Going the extra mile and consistently reassessing is a sure method to be a key player in any industry
We always go the extra mile, anticipating the needs of our patients, team members, and clients to make it easy to work with us. Many of our patients cannot get around easily to access important resources and they often have deliveries of medical equipment. When going into our patients homes, we go the extra mile so that they not only receive much needed health care tools, but can also use those items once they arrive at their home. For one patient, a critical piece of medical equipment (her walker!) was delivered while we were there for a visit. When it arrived, it was not put together and there was no one available to assist her. Our medical assistant took the initiative to put the walker together so the patient wouldn’t have to sacrifice her mobility at home. This is just one of the many ways that our care team goes above and beyond for our patients. Get in touch with HarmonyCares: https://lnkd.in/gyzg_iEb

"APhA stands with every pharmacist who participated in the walkout today. The bottom line is that we support every pharmacist’s right to work in an environment with staffing that supports your ability to provide patient care. We know that these are steps you deem necessary in order to be heard by your employer." Read APhA CEO Michael Hogue's full statement on yesterday's walkouts here: https://lnkd.in/gDhcu-y4

This week, March 10-16, 2024, is Patient Safety Awareness Week, a crucial period when we spotlight the importance of safeguarding patients in healthcare settings. This week encourages us to reflect on the strides made toward enhancing patient care. It allows healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to unite and reinforce our collective commitment to advancing overall healthcare practices. Voyce is dedicated to improving healthcare communication and patient safety. By providing on-demand access to professional medical interpreters; we ensure that clear communication is a standard practice critical for patient care across diverse languages. As we recognize Patient Safety Awareness Week, let's continue to foster a safer, more inclusive healthcare environment, ensuring every individual receives compassionate, high-quality care, one patient at a time. #PatientSafety2024 #InclusiveHealthcare #PatientAdvocacy

I know ... I missed it by a day, but here is my contribution to the discussion on Patient Safety Day: Eliminate hospital visiting hours. Why? Because it is antithetical to providing patient centered care. Surprising no one, Don Berwick says it better than I do, though I do want to extend it to (almost) all hospital units, not just critical care. If anyone in my US network is interested, I am happy to make the introduction to hospital leaders in Denmark who have years of experience with this approach! https://lnkd.in/d2NUDANW #patientsafetyday2023 #patientsafety #patientcenteredcare #hospitalmanagement

Hospitals rely on a precise balance of staff to ensure patient care isn't compromised, therefore, managing shift deficits here is paramount. It's about safeguarding patient safety, ensuring adequate care, and maintaining the integrity of medical services. Neglecting to manage these deficits can strain already overburdened staff, risking errors, compromising patient outcomes, and potentially even endangering lives. By effectively managing shift deficits through strategies like flexible scheduling, cross-training, and contingency planning, hospitals can uphold their commitment to patient care, staff well-being, and overall operational efficiency. #HospitalLife #shiftmanagement #hospitalmanager

Regulation of PA’s and AA’s is a significant step and important to be aware of Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN) members #patientsafety #regulation
We're taking steps to allow the General Medical Council to regulate Physician Associates and Anaesthesia Associates to improve patient safety. As part of our Long Term Workforce Plan, we'll increase the number of associates in the NHS to support doctors in providing care. More details: https://lnkd.in/e6-mxQYt
