CES is the talk of the week. 2 quick updates from McKnight's Senior Living in regards to outputs that affect us at #seniorliving. 1) NuraLogix Corporation rolled out a new mirror to accurately assess vital signs such as blood pressure and risk of heart disease. 2) Nuance Hearing presented glasses that can read out text/email as well as alerts the wearer of objects in their path. At ExaCare, we're supporting operators in #seniorliving by exposing seniors who may need an updated assessment ahead of schedule. This ensures extra care/services are not provided without appropriate billing, a $20M problem as recently identified by Aegis Living. This week, on workers’ day, we spent our day with Osun state workers at Oshogbo Stadium. Workers are the backbone of our economy. Usually, while they work, it is easy to forget essential things like health. Most workers rely on self-meditation to patch themselves up to continue to be productive. They only go for checkups when it is almost too late. The health of our customers is important to us, so on this last workers' day, we provided free medical check-ups for the workers of Osun State. We offered free blood sugar checks, blood pressure checks, free eye tests and free eyeglasses. More than 800 workers benefited from this exercise. Our goal is to ensure that our customers are in good health. We also used the opportunity to contribute to the excellent work the Osun state government is doing, just as we have been doing in other states by providing on-demand funds to workers. Our mission is to make credit accessible to everyone, as it is a basic necessity that everyone needs access to. It was great having another strategy session with Robert and Larry from London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) to address our primary care provider shortage. We have 84,000 people in London and Middlesex County without access to a family doctor. I know that “hope” is not a strategy but I left this meeting feeling hopeful, as we have identified the big rock problems our family doctors are facing and are making plans to tackle these. We will be asking for meetings with community partners to start the planning process. I’ll keep you posted on our progress! #primarycarecrisis #familydoctorshortage
