Check out this amazing story of the life saving skill of knowing how to perform CPR!
I should not be ALIVE today! The fact that I defeated all the odds and still have breath in my lungs is a miracle and a gift 🙌🏼 Last Tuesday, my friends at the American Heart Association shared my survivor video for the first time at the 2024 Detroit Heart Challenge Kick-Off hosted at the Detroit Pistons Performance Center. The event was hosted by this year’s co-chairs, Robert Riney, President & CEO of Henry Ford Health & Arn T., Vice Chairman of the Detroit Pistons. Thank you Sara Hegarty, Sarah Rood, PCM, Renee Rubenstein, MPA, Jason Willis and team for giving my family and I the opportunity to share our story for the purpose of inspiring others and effecting positive change! Every single person needs to know how to perform CPR. I wouldn’t be here today if my wife would not have known what to do 🤯

Helping Teams Work Smarter Not Harder | Ex Apple Director of Finance | Performance and Leadership Consultant
Some cool ideas here: - Pause and reflect after your wins (and after challenging moments) - List 10 ideas on how to solve a challenge, don't stop with just 2 - The "wonder wander" (you have to read for that one) - Ask ChatGPT what projects would impress your boss These ideas mostly fall into the "simple" category. You likely have the skill to do them. The question is, do you have the will? Growth requires doing something different.
Ever have that "only as good as your last win" feeling? It's hard not to. We swipe and click, seeing everyone else’s wins at lightening speed. We face pressure at work. Our successes can feel great in the moment, but then the comedown hits. We wonder: am I going to be able to pull it off again? My column this week is all about how to ride the roller coaster of work, sustaining your creativity and sense of self no matter what praise or wins you're racking up in the moment -- or not. (I wish someone had explained to me earlier in my career that the lows are just part of the deal -- and also, not *that* big of a deal.) Click through for advice and stories and tell me: how do you block out the noise and enjoy the ride that is having a career? https://lnkd.in/eWNWp4bf

Brace yourselves, folks - we've got something special for you. 🌟 We've been on a journey with Make-A-Wish Foundation, shadowing a troop of brave, incredible Wish Kids. Their mission? To create a masterpiece, to paint their dreams on a canvas as vast as their spirits. As we filmed this documentary-style video, we didn't just capture colors on canvas. We captured resilience, strength, and the sheer joy these kids embody. We interviewed families, heard their stories, and experienced firsthand the profound impact Make-A-Wish has on each of them. But this film is more than a behind-the-scenes peek. It's a tribute to these young warriors, a token of appreciation for the donors, and a testament to the transformative power of a wish. The grand reveal? At a gala, where this artistic feat takes center stage and goes under the hammer. The goal? To transform more lives, one wish at a time. Stay tuned for the video – it's not just an unveiling, it's an experience.

I help HR & business leaders streamline HR & payroll processes | ALS Awareness | Ex-College Athlete | Dog lover
Today, I'm remembering my dad: a true leader in every facet of life. He was a West Point grad, Army vet, triathlete, top sales leader and performer (Looker), The ALS Association Golden West Chapter trailblazer, and all-star dad. Although it's been three years since he lost his battle with ALS, his lessons continue to inspire me every day. As I continue progressing in my early sales career, I find myself constantly thinking about what advice or guidance he would give me. Even though I can't ask him, I know he's watching over me every step of the way. I reflect on the years I watched him take calls, close deals, strive for big goals and quotas, and most importantly, connect with people. Here are some of the biggest takeaways I learned from watching him in sales as I was growing up: - Be human. My dad was the king of relationships and creating meaningful connections with customers and colleagues. He never met a stranger - Set big goals, it's "all about the numbers" Even after his diagnosis, he still did what he could to help his team reach their goals and close big deals - Stay positive in the face of adversity. My dad's unwavering optimism, faith in the Lord, strength and determination inspired everyone around him. - Be a trailblazer. My dad's work in raising awareness and funds for ALS paved the way for future advancements in research and treatment. As a family, we were blessed to be a part of incredible projects like Google's Project Euphonia and Major League Baseball (MLB)'s Lou Gehrig Day If only he could see me now, is what I often ask myself throughout the highs and lows of my early career. To anyone who's lost a parent and followed in their footsteps professionally, I'm sure you battle with this question, too. My message to you (and to myself) is trust in yourself, remember them and their careers fondly & know that you are ALWAYS making them proud. #ALS #family #sales #loss #Google #MLB #alsawareness For anyone interested, here are some articles about my dad & family: https://lnkd.in/eBccsaaT https://lnkd.in/ewqmh--Y https://lnkd.in/e_hBWkCr
