Morty’s: where Dogs, Drinks & Delight Unite Safely | MeatSpace: Virtual Dog Educational Content for Real World
Thanks, Mindy Dutka for sharing the new research data by the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) ( (I'm a huge fan too!). We already know that dogs are more than just good vibes and wagging tails; they are the ultimate Rx for our mental health and overall well-being. At Morty's Bark & Brew, we're taking these insights to heart. We're incorporating AAIs and the magic of biophilia to support pet parents and craft an unparalleled experience. Let's continue harnessing the human-animal bond's power as a catalyst for positive change and growth. Data on Role of Pets for Better Mental Health: https://lnkd.in/gVtHDxYu
Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) is back at it again, showing the world the profound impact our furry friends have on our mental health. Their recent conference was a beacon of insight and collaboration, bringing together leaders in the pet care community and mental health experts to deepen our understanding and promote the benefits of the human-animal bond. In collaboration with Mental Health America, HABRI shared some eye-opening survey results from 4,000 respondents. The findings? Nothing short of inspiring: ⭐ 98% of pet owners report at least one health benefit from their pet, including reduced loneliness (73%), comfort (73%), and a source of happiness (79%). ⭐ 71% of respondents, and an even higher 76% of those with a disability, are eager to work with mental health professionals who incorporate pets or animal-assisted interventions (AAI) into their practice. ⭐ 93% of respondents agree that society needs to provide more support for pet ownership and AAIs. This data underlines what many of us already know: pets are more than just companions; they are vital contributors to our well-being. As we celebrate these findings, let's also think about how we can turn this research into action. How can we leverage this knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of shelter animals and the people who care for them? Do you have ideas of how to use this research to create positive change? Let's connect. Together, we can develop innovative programs and campaigns that raise awareness and provide tangible support to shelters and rescues, enhancing the lives of both pets and their humans. Feel free to reach out—I've got some exciting ideas, and I'd love to hear yours too. Let's make a difference, one paw at a time! Hey everyone, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of PawPlacer (https://www.pawplacer.com), a cutting-edge desktop and mobile site designed to revolutionize pet shelter management and pet adoption. PawPlacer is the fastest, most affordable (free, for many!), feature-rich, and user-friendly tool available on the market today. During my research, I found that existing pet shelter management tools had several significant shortcomings, as well as a lack of useful features. Here are the main issues I identified: 1. **User Interface (UI)**: Managing a pet shelter is a complex task that demands organization and tracking. However, many existing software solutions feature outdated UIs with dull grayscale themes, zero styling, and slow page load times. This is far from acceptable. Your experience should be pleasant and welcoming. 2. **Pricing**: Some platforms offer very few features yet charge over $75 per month for their most basic plans. Others have tiered pricing structures ranging from $55 to $550 per month, plus setup fees and additional fees for adoptions and donations. This pricing model is simply unacceptable, and effectively blocks hundreds or thousands of shelters around the world from participating. 3. **Workflow Management**: Effective shelter management requires all staff members, including managers, volunteers, and team members, to access records and tasks seamlessly. Unfortunately, many current solutions lack this essential functionality, treating tasks and records as completely separate entities. This disjointed approach makes it difficult to track who needs to do what and when. PawPlacer is here to streamline pet shelter management and make every task just a few clicks away. Until we have enough shelters on board posting pets, the public facing side for adopters will remain fairly bare. But we have it all set up so that once we get our shelters uploading pets, you will be able to find any pet you want. We would love it if you could help me spread the word about this. Who doesn’t want to save pets? DM for credentials for a demo account if interested! #shelter #pets #animals #cats #dogs #rescue #adoption ASPCA Bideawee North Shore Animal League America
