Adherence to a methodology that doesn't adapt to changing circumstances can lead to misleading outcomes. In terms of World Golf Ranking calculations, if the actual number of events played were used as the denominator rather than an arbitrary denominator of 40, the number 1 ranked golfer would be Bryson DeChambeau and not Scotty Scheffler. This is not to say that Scotty Scheffler isn't currently the best golfer; rather it is an indication that Bryson DeChambeau should certainly be ranked higher than 10th. Hopefully, behind the scene, the World Golf Ranking body is working on updating their calculation methodology to more accurately reflect the current state of play.

🏌️♂️ Insights on the USGA's Decision for a Universal Ball Rollback Ever wondered why the USGA opted for a ball rollback affecting all levels of golfers? Let's delve into the reasoning behind this significant decision. At its core, the USGA sought to avoid the complexities of bifurcating the rules, as initially proposed in the Model Local Rule. The idea of having different rules for elite golfers and everyday players raised concerns – some might not follow the Local Rule, and there could be confusion among manufacturers and golf associations. Thomas Pagel, Chief Governance Officer for the USGA, shared insights on the decision, acknowledging initial discomfort with potential rule bifurcation. The focus on the elite level was deemed appropriate for addressing the distance issue. However, overwhelming feedback and practical challenges arose from various stakeholders, including manufacturers, PGA Tour, other tours, elite players, PGA of America, and allied golf associations. The practical challenges led to candid conversations, with stakeholders expressing reluctance to adopt a Model Local Rule. Pagel emphasized that a rule not used would be an ineffective solution for the game, ultimately leading to a universal change. Recognizing golfers' reluctance to lose distance, the goal was to minimize the impact. The estimated one to five yards of distance loss off the tee, primarily with the driver, aimed to strike a balance. Pagel urged trust in the process, emphasizing the ability to adjust tees and play forward tees. Addressing concerns, Pagel highlighted that approximately one-third of balls on the conforming list would still conform in 2030, meaning many golfers already use balls unaffected by the rollback. In essence, whether you notice a difference or not, the undeniable truth is that we're all in this together. Over the next six years, the aim is to show that the game remains healthy, and the impact is minimal. 🌐⛳️ #GolfNews #USGA #GolfRules #BallRollback #GolfCommunity

Let's take a stroll through our archive, shall we? With the Solheim and Ryder Cups coming up, we were thinking about our first Gather White Paper which looked into golf's reliance on avid and core golfers. These two showcase events bring a partisan crowd to golf and can help bring new fans into our sport. The question is, how do we capitalise on this? #GatherInsights https://lnkd.in/e_RH-xcQ

When it comes to better ball striking and shooting lower scores on a consistent basis most golfers think that their problem is that they don't hit the ball far enough. Its a mistake to think this way because if you are hitting the ball offline and always in trouble then you never get to score well. Five times British Open Champion Australian Peter Thomson said '𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗿, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿'. Comment '𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴' to improve your golf this week. Look at building control as the entrance point to scoring lower and you will be on the fast track to hitting the ball close to your target because you have consistent contact and compression on the ball. So when you want to score well first concentrate on control and consistently hitting your ball to your target and allow the power to follow. If you want to know how to access this control and better ball striking then please comment below '𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴' and this week we can help you on your path to better golf through our system. #golftips #golflessons #crokergolfsystem
