Lessons learned in recruiting 2024: LinkedIn is a great place to post for free, get applicants fast and actively engage with them to move the conversation forward. Here’s a few more pointers and lessons learned: 1. Wording and title matters. When I posted a paid intern vs a Director or Cofunder- the quality and quantity was variable. The more detailed and specific I was without losing the readers attention, the better. 2. We are in a job market now where folks are eager to find something fast and are more open to taking risks or trying new things. 3. Although free job posting with handy integrations produces results fast- many people do not read the full posting, answer yes and give years of experience that are inaccurate, which means extra time spent for the poster that from experience as an executive recruiter- can be more than frustrating. To the job poster- free, quick and easy is not a one stop shop for the best candidate to secure the job and be a longer term fit. To the applicant- we know you are eager to find work. Save yourself a headache and carefully read postings. If you are struggling and tired of clicking apply and not getting traction, find a professional to help. Most are free if they have clients who are hiring and some are invaluable - a couple 100 $s for a 6 figure long term gig!

Therapists, what do you consider "high-quality care" in your practice, and how do you ensure consistency? For many of us, it centers on the therapeutic relationship, our in-depth understanding of our client's cases, their self-reports, attrition, and observed changes in behavior over time. Our education, training, specialties, theoretical orientation, and background also shape our views on how change occurs and what success looks like. Given that many of us practice therapy, how can we align psychologists, psychiatrists, coaches, social workers, counselors, peer support, paraprofessionals, crisis support, and other professionals offering therapy, who may have differing definitions, to establish standards for measurement-based care? Are specific therapeutic approaches, such as behavioral and cognitive interventions, more conducive to measurement than others? What are your feelings and thoughts on tech defining these standards of measurement-based care for us if we can't? How culturally responsive will this shift lend itself? This article by Danny Freed has sparked a lot of thoughts for me... https://lnkd.in/eNyiMeKR #mentalhealth #mentalhealtheducation #mentalhealthsupport #behavioralhealth #behavioralhealthtech #treatment #therapy

We need more real world evidence to support Digital Mental Health at scale. Australia is woefully behind on regulatory frameworks, clinical governance guidelines and reimbursement models for Software as a medical device (SAMD) and DTx (Digital Therapeutics) which is what many of these digital mental apps are classified as. Here is a story we covered on one example evaluated in Australia https://lnkd.in/gPv3wG7y This part however sounds like a step in the right direction . In my opinion every large GP practice should have a funded mental health nurse that is free to access! That would make a huge difference! Cate Swannell for the Health Services Daily “Further, it has committed to making more specialised care available to those who cannot afford the very considerable out-of-pocket expenses that are being charged by private psychology and psychiatry. “Additional monies are devoted to expanding multidisciplinary care in association with general practice and for primary health networks to purchase more complex services where they are not readily available to a local community. “These developments are all welcome additions, but they need to be well-designed before implementation and closely monitored after they are deployed to ensure they reach the intended members of the community.” The government will also fund PHNs, in partnership with general practices, to bring on mental health nurses and other allied health supports to provide free care coordination and support to patients with complex needs, in between GP and specialist appointments. #mentalhealth

Research shows that measurement-based care makes therapy better — yet fewer than 20% of behavioral health providers use it. Why is this? Find out in the latest Behavioral Health Tech Q&A featuring our Chief Clinical Officer Colleen Marshall. In it, Colleen explains why measurement leads to better mental health outcomes and explores some concerns about the practice. She also outlines how Two Chairs has built its practice around measurement-based care, so other organizations can follow suit to provide better outcomes to clients. Deciding which mental health treatment is right for you can feel overwhelming. Here's a quick guide to help: Outpatient Treatment is provided as individual, couples, or family therapy once a week. The provider is a counselor, social worker, family therapist, or psychologist. This type of treatment is ideal for individuals who can function at school, a job, and in their home life, but need help to address daily challenges or life transitions. Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) or Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are designed to help individuals who need more professional support than once a week therapy. These day programs provide structured treatment to teach individuals how to understand their problems and learn the skills they need to make their lives healthier and happier. Individuals can attend these programs during the day and return to their homes in the evening. Psychiatric Hospitalization or Inpatient Treatment is provided to address the most severe mental health needs of individuals. People who pose a danger to themselves through planning suicide, harming themselves, hallucinating or experiencing delusions, or are considered a danger to someone else, require inpatient treatment. This level of care provides assessment of the problems, a diagnosis and prescription for medications, and a plan for stabilizing these individuals. At New Dimensions, we're committed to helping you find the best approach for your recovery journey. We provide a free initial assessment to help you get started. 🧠 I've seen so many articles in the past few days speaking to the need to better integrate mental healthcare into the primary care setting. This is especially a need for children where the pediatrician is truly the first line in identifying issues that would benefit from early intervention. But, that need is unmet - take this statistic from the study linked below: "98% of adolescent patients who received mental health or substance use care from physical health providers felt that they needed additional help from a mental health or substance use specialist." 🧠 With access to behavioral health specialists a huge unmet need, it's no surprise the primary care is being looked to for improving access. The problem: you simply can't bridge the gap without trained, specialized, professionals... just like we can't expect emergency medicine providers to successfully take on this role, we can't expect primary care providers armed with screening tools to cut it either. Instead, there needs to be an integration of specialists directly into the primary care setting to collaborate and provide that more holistic care. 🧠 And, there is already proof in the pudding: integrating mental health services into the primary care setting, by having behavioral health specialists directly support PCPs has been shown to improve outcomes for patients. And, there are already evidence-based models to follow, such as the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in which the primary care team consists of a PCP, a behavioral health care manager, and a virtual psychiatric consultant who can advise the PCP and behavioral health care manager on care approaches. The idea seems so straightforward, it's amazing it is not more common. ❓ What do you think is hold this shift back from happening? ❓ #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #InnovationInHealthcare

Are We Ready to Revolutionize Behavioral Healthcare? Imagine a world where every individual struggling with mental health or addiction feels seen, understood, and supported. A world where treatment is as unique as the person receiving it. Unfortunately, we're not there yet. Despite incredible advancements in medicine, behavioral healthcare often remains stuck in outdated methods. It's time to ask: Why aren't we challenging the status quo? The challenges we face today are multifaceted: Stigmatization continues to deter individuals from seeking help. Access to Care remains a significant barrier for many, particularly in underserved communities. Personalization in treatment is lacking, as many solutions adopt a one-size-fits-all approach. Integration of holistic and community-based approaches should be considered. However, these challenges present opportunities for groundbreaking innovation: Community-Based Solutions: Leveraging peer support networks and localized care initiatives to create a sense of belonging and mutual understanding. Holistic Approaches: Incorporating lifestyle changes, nutrition, and alternative therapies to address the whole person, not just the symptoms. Cultural Competence: Ensuring treatment is tailored to diverse populations' cultural backgrounds and specific needs fosters trust and engagement. Preventative Care: Focusing on early intervention and education to prevent mental health issues before they become severe, empowering individuals and communities. It's crucial to challenge the status quo in behavioral healthcare. Clinging to outdated methods hinders progress and fails to address the unique needs of individuals seeking help. By disrupting the conventional approaches, we can break down the barriers to care, reduce stigma, and provide more effective and personalized treatment options. The time is now to embrace these advancements and reimagine our approach to behavioral healthcare. Let's prioritize empathy, understanding, and individualized care. Let's collaborate, innovate, and drive the change our healthcare system desperately needs. Join the conversation and participate in the movement towards a healthier future for all. #BehavioralHealthcare #Innovation #HolisticCare #EmpathyInBehavioralHealthcare #BehavioralHealthcareInnovation
