Thanks Recycling Product News for this awesome article about our transformation. 😎 The new LINDEMANN strategy is hinged on triggering transformations on three levels. Firstly, it aims to take the best from LINDEMANN's engineering and transform it for success in the technological age. Secondly, it focuses on transforming the industry, by giving recyclers the means to achieve ideal levels of profitability. Finally, the new strategy hopes to transform society by helping communities lower their carbon footprints and drive the circular metal economy. https://lnkd.in/eRhq7ar7 Ken Singer Carl Gustaf Göransson #transformation #lindemannmetalrecycling #circulareconomy #bettertomorrow #metalrecycling #greensteel

𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐳𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 German recycling companies Reiling Group and Schirmbeck have joined forces to build a glass #recycling plant in the Czech Republic. To meet the ever-growing #challenges of the European glass industry, Schirmbeck and Reiling founded a joint company last year, the Czech ‘SR Glass Recycling’. The company owns a site in the Chomutov region, where the new #glass recycling plant is being built. The project will help to reduce long transport routes, and therefore costs and CO2, as both companies collect glass in the Czech Republic. Until now, this glass has been imported to Germany and processed in the companies’ glass recycling plants before being exported back to the Czech Republic. These routes can therefore be avoided in future. 𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: https://lnkd.in/eWhmBQrr #glassindustry #manufacturing #sustainability #decarbonisation #technology #czechrepublic

Speira has announced it will inject €40m to fund additional aluminium recycling capacity and transform its Rheinwerk plant. The significant investment is expected to drive a total saving of up to 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year at the site, a significant milestone in establishing a circular economy for aluminium. Boris Kurth, Head of the can business at Speira and the recycling and foundry operations at Rheinwerk, explained: “We want to become the number 1 in aluminium recycling in #Europe. “Over the past 20 years, we have already built furnaces with leading recycling capacity in Europe and Europe’s most modern sorting plant for UBC scrap, substituting the highly energy-intensive primary production of aluminium. “We are consistently pursuing this path and emphasising our commitment to the circular economy with the fourth recycling furnace at Rheinwerk.” https://lnkd.in/ep4Sr-Ev #recycling #investment #europe #circulareconomy #aluminium

Light metals are gearing up to play a massive role in the era of electrification and decarbonization by lightweighting electric vehicles and renewable energy infrastructure. However, to truly impactfully decarbonize, the industrial sector must minimize the embodied carbon from the production processes of these metals. With this in mind, I recently wrote an article for Light Metal Age on the criticality of aluminum circularity in decarbonizing the aluminum industry.
From our June 2024 issue, check out "Diverting Aluminum Scrap Away from Recycling Disrupts Circularity" by Melissa Zirps, Magrathea. https://lnkd.in/g3Yv9Jnw Companies Mentioned: Novelis, Constellium #aluminum #aluminium #scrap #aluminumscrap #recycling #aluminumrecycling #aluminiumindustry #aluminumindustry #magnesium #hydrogen

Inside the World of Aluminum Recycling Aluminum is the second most frequently used metal in our economy. Iron and steel are #1. Most people know a lot of the aluminum comes from recycling, but don't know the details. Here is an article that gives one a good education on the subject in a very understandable way. I was surprised that only 80% of the aluminum we use comes from recycling. We still produce 20% from ore in a very energy-intensive process and that fraction is growing as less is recycled every year. There are some good ways to reduce the carbon footprint of aluminum made from scrap as well as raw ore and DOE is pouring money into some novel plants. Some things could increase the recycled fraction. Take a look at the article and come to our MeetUp on improving the circular economy on September 26th at our Bloom Workspace site. - Industrial Resin Recycling Invests $2.3M in Planet-Saving Recycling Efforts - We’re excited to celebrate a major milestone with Industrial Resin Recycling Inc.! They’ve invested $2.3 million to boost recycling capabilities, entering the post-consumer market. With this investment, their Howell, MI, and Piedmont, AL plants added two new processing lines, increasing capacity by 40% and handling more diverse materials, including woven automotive fabrics. They also installed a brand new MAS twin-screw extruder at their Fowlerville, Michigan facility. This machine isn’t just increasing their capacity by 80%; it’s also reducing energy usage, making their operations more efficient and environmentally friendly. With this extruder being both faster and smarter, it can process materials that other machines can’t handle, like paper, wood, or labels. With lab expansions and certifications (ISO 9001, GreenCircle, A2LA), they’re committed to diverting recyclables from landfills. The eFACTOR3 team is proud to support companies like Industrial Resin Recycling in their sustainability journey!
