The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals that were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The goals address a wide range of social, economic and environmental challenges, including poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, climate action, and peace and justice. The 17 SDGs are: 1. No Poverty 2. Zero Hunger 3. Good Health and Well-being 4. Quality Education 5. Gender Equality 6. Clean Water and Sanitation 7. Affordable and Clean Energy 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth 9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure 10. Reduced Inequality 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities 12. Responsible Consumption and Production 13. Climate Action 14. Life Below Water 15. Life on Land 16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions 17. Partnerships for the Goals These goals are interconnected and aim to address the root causes of poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation, while promoting sustainable development for all. Businesses, governments, civil society organizations, and individuals are encouraged to work together to achieve these goals and create a more sustainable and equitable world for future generations.
One good act a day!
