Dog Balm. It’s a thing! Rigden Farm Senior Living residents have been making Pooches and Smooches Paw Balm to help furry friends dealing with dry noses and rough paws. Residents Mary and Vann, taught us how it’s made while leading an insightful discussion about the benefits for the pets we love so much. The program is a collaborative endeavor stemming from their partnership with All Aboard Animal Rescue. Through this initiative, Rigden residents actively contribute to a noble cause by doing something actionable. Items created are available for a donation with all proceeds directed toward supporting the shelter's vital efforts. Beyond the craft itself, this event underscored the profound impact our work has on residents' lives. It served as a poignant reminder of our commitment to enhancing their well-being through meaningful engagement and community involvement. We extend our gratitude to Mary, Vann, and all residents involved for their dedication and inspiration. Together we continue to exemplify our corporate ethos of fostering enriching experiences and making a positive difference in our communities. #CorporateResponsibility #CommunityEngagement #SeniorLiving

Let's help stray dogs find their forever homes ❤️ Many stray dogs in our communities walk the streets alone, searching for food and shelter. These pups deserve love and care just like any other pet. - Offer food and water: Leaving out a bowl of fresh water and some dog food can make a big difference for a hungry pup. - Provide shelter: If possible, create a makeshift shelter out of cardboard or a blanket to offer them a safe haven. - Spread the word: If you see a friendly stray dog, take a picture and post it on social media with the #FindAFureverHomeForStrays hashtag. This can help connect the dog with a loving family. - Support animal shelters: Shelters play a vital role in rescuing and caring for stray dogs. Consider donating or volunteering your time to a local shelter. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of stray dogs. Let's work towards a world where every dog has a loving home #CompassionForAnimals #StraysDeserveLoveToo #BeTheChange

National Mixed Breed Day encourages us to celebrate, embrace and save mixed breed dogs. We love them so much we recognize this holiday twice a year-on July 31 and December 2. Desperately longing for a new home, millions of loving and healthy mixed breed dogs in shelters wait for someone to come and adopt them. Approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year, according to the ASPCA. Each one needs a home. Despite the name, a mixed breed learns, obeys and trains much like purebred animals and are some of our favorite and most faithful dogs. How to Celebrate National Mixed Breed Dog Day 1.Visit a local shelter to adopt. 2.Volunteer at your favorite local animal organization. 3.Schedule an appointment to have your dog spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. 4.Make a donation to Tails of Hope in honor or memory of your mixed breed dog supporting all our lifesaving programs and making an impact for many dogs who desperately need our help. 5.Spend extra time with your dog - take pics or video of your special day together and post using #nationalmixedbreeddogday #FromOurPawsToYours ‘Tis the Season! It’s Giving Season and Tails of Hope’s annual year end fund drive is happening now! A tax-deductible donation in the name of a furkid makes a great gift for the animal lover on your list! Send a FREE e-CARD to your recipient and get a FREE ENTRY INTO A RAFFLE when you make your gift online: TailsofHopeWPA.org @tailsofhopewpa @nationalmixedbreeddogday #nationalmixedbreeddogtday #fromourpawstoyours #mixedbreed #dog #canine #faithful #pet #adopt #adoptdontshop #twiceayear #celebrate #embrace #savelives #shelter #community #love #family #petsarefamily #nonprofit #donate #donation

On February 20th, we celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, a day to embrace one special trait that makes us human: our love of our pets! There are many things that differentiate humans from the rest of the Animal Kingdom, but one of the more unusual behaviours is our longstanding tendency to keep other animals as pets. According to a UK Pet Food report, 16.2 million (57%) of UK households reported owning a pet in January 2023, accounting for about 38 million pets total throughout the country. It only makes sense to commemorate something that’s so important to so many people, so on February 20th, we celebrate our pets with #NationalLoveYourPetDay! #Pets have been a part of human life for thousands of years. Ever since we’ve made our first steps into civilisation, animals have been right there alongside us. And look at those faces! Who could blame us? Nobody really knows exactly what animal the very first pet was. But, one animal, the wolf, lived alongside early humans for centuries. Even as far back as 12,000 years ago, dogs and cats were buried in their human counterparts’ graves. It seems that even early humans had a deep attachment to their furry friends. Whether #Cats, #Dogs, #Birds, or even #Spiders, lets celebrate our furry/feathered friends and shower them with love and affection on this day! 2 months ago, our mission took on a new dimension – supporting animal welfare. We partnered with Animalibre, an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need. The stories of countless dogs, cats, and other creatures suffering on the streets moved us. Witnessing the transformation of these animals – overcoming fear and regaining health – is inspiring. We couldn't walk away from the opportunity to make a difference. Virtue Health helps Animalibre with donations and raising awareness for their work. However, our furry friends still face challenges. Animalibre currently cares for 100 animals, and they desperately need a larger space to thrive. How You Can Help: - Donate: Your contribution helps provide vital resources for them. - Adopt: Open your home to a deserving companion. - Share: Spread the word. Every action counts. Let's work together to create a brighter future for these animals. 📌 Donate here: https://gofund.me/1129584d #animalrescue #animalrights #donate

Splish, splash, our spotted hyenas love taking baths! Ngozi, Kelele and Tavi always enjoy a cool bubble bath or refreshing dip in the pool when the weather warms up. These fun bubble baths also serve as enrichment, as hyenas like to cache things in water and come back to them later. Our Animal Care staff hides exciting items for the clan to find and ups the challenge level by making the items hard to see with bubbles. Whenever the suds come out, our hyenas get extra excited to play! Treat our hyenas to a sudsy spa day! 🫧 Donate now: https://lnkd.in/eM_S7zF9
