Let’s introduce you to our latest public HACKD event, a hackathon format by our The Meet Group colleagues! HACKD, organized and executed by Gal Blank, Director of Engineering for our Livebox product, has been proven to be an amazing setting for team building, knowledge sharing and boosting morale, mainly for the fields of product, design and #engineering. This year, the first event after the Covid-19 pandemic was also the first to be set up as a #hybrid event with its base in our #NewHope office on the east coast of the United States. The result: 50 brand new project #ideas! How did Gal and his team go about? Within the first days of public registration around 80 people signed up from all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Poland and Bulgaria, to participate in three virtual ideation sessions to brainstorm about any ideas using latest #technology #trends. A combination of #productdesign and #tech provided a perfect triangle that covers all sides of any feature. For people who joined remotely a live, all-day video streaming was established with multiple cameras covering HACKD main office and even the accompanying activities, such as collective breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and even a Ping Pong tournament. Three days of meeting others and creating new connections. And on top, the #TheMeetGroup design team created an amazing logo especially for this year’s event, which already found its way on to t-shirts. Rumors are told that some participants are even planning on getting the logo tattooed. Now, that’s some special commitment! A week after #HACKD the project presentations took place with a total of 24 projects built, ranging from back-office tools to new Apple #VirtualReality live streaming as well as tons of other innovative ideas. Afterwards, people could vote for their favorite in three categories: product, engineering, and crowd. And winning was worth it! The best teams of each category got to choose a team activity of their choice. Given how successful HACKD was this year, a follow-up event is already planned for spring next year. We are very much looking forward to this – and maybe you yourself will be part of it? Stay tuned!
