President and Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member, Education Forward Arizona. Helping students succeed; increasing postsecondary attainment to ensure a brighter future for Arizona
Scholarships are even more effective when they include an intensive set of student success services. We realized this almost 15 years ago, when many still held onto a sink or swim mentality that led to abysmal #college retention and graduation rates for #students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Education Forward Arizona and our funding partners will award almost $2.5 million in funds to 550 scholars this year. Importantly, because our partners understand the added value, each of those scholars is assigned a dedicated Success Advisor with years of experience in supporting students through their #postsecondary education journey. In many cases, the support services end up being as valuable as the funding. All of our scholars come from low-income backgrounds and are often the first in their families to enroll in education beyond high school. The data tells us that similar students without this type of funding and support will unfortunately graduate at rates below 40%. We are proud that our scholars graduate at a 73% rate. If you are familiar with #scholarship programs that have not yet offered these crucial supports and services to their #scholars, point them in our direction. Scholarship funders are always excited when they hear about the increased return on their investment in these amazing students. #firstgenerationcollegestudent #studentsupport #mentoringmatters
Our scholarships go beyond financial assistance. Through a comprehensive approach, we provide mentoring and advising services which help our scholars navigate the college system through to completion and a smooth transition their career. When you donate to Education Forward Arizona, your donation doesn't just help students pay for college. It helps them succeed!

Breaking FAFSA News! Indiana is leading the nation in closing the FAFSA filing gap! FAFSA is not just a form; it's a key to unlocking access to higher education and sustainable careers, inspiring hope for students across the state. Financial aid is still available to eligible students on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you have not filed yet, it is imperative to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible! #HOPEgrowsinIndiana

Moving into a college dorm is an exciting step towards independence for many students. But what happens to all that new stuff when it's time to move out? Instead of sending loads of usable furniture, clothes and appliances to the landfill, schools like Smith College, University of Georgia and University of Tennessee, Knoxville have move-out donation programs. We love that #ZeroWaste programs are becoming more common in higher ed. Which school will be next to add an innovative approach to the #CircularEconomy? https://hubs.li/Q02N0XJG0

Did you know that college expenses have skyrocketed exponentially in the past twenty years, putting many families in difficult situations? Between 1994 and 2024, college tuition and fees doubled in most private non-profit schools and four-year public colleges and universities. The 529 plan is a tax-advantaged state-sponsored investment plan that allows parents to save for their children's college expenses. https://lnkd.in/gv_Ff-BF

The way to lead with actions not just words.
Austin Bank's allegiance to the communities it serves continues to manifest itself through contributions in direct support of local education, the arts, literacy, health and housing needs as well as countless hours of volunteer service given by Austin Bank employees. B.E. Blessed is a non-profit organization in the Conroe area with the mission of providing school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to low-income students throughout their community. Baily (pictured center) was 6 years old when she realized that not all of her classmates had their own crayons. This inspired her to create B.E. Blessed to provide underprivileged students with the supplies they need to succeed. Since the organization made it's first donation in 2006, they've raised over $230,000 and provided school supplies to over 2,900 students. We are proud to support Baily and B.E. Blessed in their mission to improve the educational outcomes of students throughout the Conroe community and beyond. #WithYouForGood #BEBlessed #ConroeTX
