Exciting news! Congratulations to Southern NH Weight Management for earning a “silver” award from the 2024 NH Union Leader Readers’ Choice Awards. This practice was chosen in the “Best Weight Loss Clinic” category. According to the Union Leader, 50,000 votes were cast this year during its four-week promotional campaign that provided readers with the opportunity vote for the top New Hampshire businesses, in a range of categories.

SCHEDULED POSTS Normally I schedule posts (don't ask how far out I am scheduled currently). And then- sometimes timely inspiration strikes. When it strikes- I do not always have time to post. And if I post I have a dilema- do I post and mess up my schedule, or just add in a post? Today I have time to post (a nice handful of clients cancelled today scared to go on the scale post Purim 😂). And I am adding it in! One of the many goals we work on here at The Meira Walman Group is weight loss. (Weight loss normally comes along with healthier lab values and an improvement in overall health and well being FYI). Do not chop my head off. We also work on: Water intake Exercise Sleep Amongst others But today- right after Purim, any client that stayed the same is a winner!!!! Purim is a hard day in terms of the quantity and quality of food available. It is hard to eat well all day and unfortunately many people feel guilty when they slip up. DON'T feel guilty. Whatever you did is done. Its over. You are amazing and move on. Jack, Thanks for your leadership and insight! Achieving consensus in such a diverse landscape is undoubtedly challenging, but it is not impossible. The process involves active listening, fostering an environment of mutual respect, and encouraging a spirit of compromise. Recognizing that each stakeholder brings unique insights and concerns to the table, with the common aim to identify solutions that accommodate various perspectives and serve the American public. FMCSA and DOT continue to make progress, improving on the previous day while preparing for tomorrow!
Reflecting back over my years at FMCSA I wish I had done one thing differently over the years. The CMV industry is so diverse, not only in the make up of carriers but within the advocates, special interest groups, regulators, and enforcement. Problem is that most do not agree with each other, have their own views on issues, and just want and expect! Many wanted to check the box; we met with the Administrator, photo taken, job completed for six months. Problem is that many of the modes go through Administrators quicker then celebrities staying married. We went through 7 Administrators (Many Acting) in six years; not fair to the Industry, FMCSA and special interest groups. What I should have done different is bring in all the CMV industry, advocacy, associations, regulators, and enforcement representatives and attempted to find common ground. I should have done this on a regular basis. How to assure safety and promote commerce at the same time!!! Can it be achieved, sure it can, there just has to be a little give and take.

Getting on stage with two top-tier presenters (Jennifer Riha and Stacy A. Collins) and a sharp moderator (Donna Martin, M.Ed., CAE ) to talk about the shift to alternative payment models? Sure, that’s the easy part. The real battle is dragging APMs out of their rigid, medical-based frameworks and adapting them to the intricate world of HCBS and LTSS, where independent, often smaller providers operate. Not everyone has a robust data infrastructure of a large hospital system at their fingertips to track every outcome before, during, and after APM rollouts. If we want to support providers to evolve from fee-for-service into pay-for-reporting, pay-for-performance, and shared savings models, we need to innovatively invest in building up their capabilities and walk with them every step of the way. In truth, collaboration with all stakeholders—providers, people with lived experience, and more—isn’t some box to tick off. It’s the spark that ignites real transformation. Because let’s face it: you get what you pay for.
