Hiring strategically means, ❓Understanding Unique Value Each company/industry has a unique market differentiators Yours may be best served by standardization or service or scale or support IT needs to understand how they fit into that 🔎Insource vs. Outsource Hiring a person internally has advantages: knowledge, skills, scale Insource only what directly supports your company's unique value Outsourcing should be used for all roles not in that category 🧑🤝🧑Only Hire Aligned Roles In manufacturing, need scale across many sites? Hire infra engineers. In eCom, need custom experiences? Hire dev engineers. In shipping, need data to optimize routes? Hire data engineers. The above are only examples, but the point is… Understand your company's unique, hire people who support that, Outsource everything else.
