How long does it take you to walk for clean water? Seriously, count the number of steps.  For the 703 million people living without it, the answer is anything. And they do: they walk miles every day, in treacherous conditions and extreme heat, just to access water that makes them sick — or worse. That’s why I’m doing this fundraiser. charity: water challenged me to do something to help those who would do anything for water that’s safe to drink. Please support my campaign. Every $40 we raise will provide a lifetime of clean water to one person. 100% of every dollar you donate will go directly to providing the life-changing gift of clean water where it’s needed most. charity: water will even report back with details of where your money went, and how it’s helping.

In March 2023, there were 168,893 charities registered in the UK with a further 20,000 not-for-profit organisations that are not on the register but have charitable status. Isn’t that incredible? This is really interesting, more people are writing Wills, hooray! As a sector, I believe charities are raising the profile of gifts in Wills. Do we all have the mechanism in place to turn that inspiration into action? Charities without an online Will writing partnership in place are missing a trick. Guide Dogs Victoria is proud to be a donation partner of Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)! CDS VIC is part of the Victorian Government's $515 million investment to transform the state's waste and recycling sector. Funded by contributions from the beverage industry, the scheme will contribute to Victoria's target of diverting 80% of all material away from landfill by 2030. There are three zone operators covering the Victorian area: - North Zone: Visy - East Zone: Return It - West Zone: Tomra Cleanaway What does this mean? Victorians will receive 10 cents per eligible drink container, of which they can choose to donate to Guide Dogs Victoria! To donate: -Collect eligible drink containers. Look for the 10-cent mark to confirm eligibility. - Find your nearest refund point by heading to https://lnkd.in/gkj4YCjX and typing in your postcode. - Choose to donate your refund to Guide Dogs Victoria! You can do this by searching for Guide Dogs Victoria when donating at a collection point, downloading your zone operator’s free app via your smartphones app store or scanning our donor barcode ID at your nearest collection point. Change can be tough. It is, however, often necessary to have a successful, thriving charitable mission. This challenge is where having a shared vision comes into play. Engage and be engaged in defining what it is your charity seeks to achieve. Share success stories of other charities who went paperless, for example, that now serve more people than ever, with way more ease. A charity cannot be hamstrung. A charity exists for mission, not individual staff. If it does not, find another charity to support and be part.
