Last week, we attended the 2024 Audio Engineering Society (AES) 5th International Conference on Automotive Audio in Gothenburg, Sweden 🇸🇪 Our Director of Technical Program Management, Dr. Sylvain Chevalier, shared insights on a panel about Synergizing NVH, Sound, and Speech: Innovating Automotive Design. He discussed how hardware choices like CPU and RAM influence the performance and user-friendliness of in-car voice assistants, and highlighted the need for early access to the microphone, audio pipeline, and car interior configuration to tailor models to real-world conditions for end users. For SoundHound AI, engaging with the audio community and understanding the challenges in creating the ultimate in-car audio experience is invaluable. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation! 🚗🌐

Thank you AutoSens for hosting an important forum on sensor technology for #ADAS. Antonio Puglielli did the math in his presentation, showing how current radar resolution and accuracy is not good enough for ADAS to respond to common scenarios when moving at highway speeds. He shared insights into Zendar's distributed aperture approach to radar design, which we believe is necessary to achieve the performance necessary for truly trustworthy ADAS. Learn more about distributed aperture radar technology on our website, zendar.io.

The small and portable "Looking Glass Go" now on KICKSTARTER! Can't wait to have one on my desk. Holographic displays are one of the most underestimated technologies. And here comes a new one - affordable and cool. I love my slightly bigger Looking Glass Portrait and I see a big potential for those displays, especially in retail. It's fascinating how the spatial representation makes every object almost tangible. At home, at point of sale, or at trade shows. And all of this autostereoscopic. It means automatically without wearing special glasses. I'm sure we'll see many more use cases for holographic displays in near future. Especially now that the first mobile phones support capturing 3D images and video - one way to produce content for the Looking Glass. If you want to find out how Looking Glass can help your product stand out, let me know. #LookingGlass #SpatialImages #HolographicDisplays
Ready • Set • 𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝑮𝒐 A few minutes ago we launched something that we've been working on for five years - a portable holographic display for spatial memories. It's a truly magical device that all of us on the team are super proud of sharing with the world. Watch the video below, then head on this link to see more for yourself → https://look.glass/go

🎉 I'm excited to announce that our paper, "A Hybrid Graph Network for Complex Activity Detection in Video," authored by myself along with Izzeddin Teeti, @Andrew Bradley, Mohamed Elhoseiny, and Fabio Cuzzolin, has been accepted at the WACV (IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision) 2024! 📄🚀 🔍 Our research delves into the realm of Complex Activity Detection in videos, crucial in fields like autonomous driving and sports analytics. The paper tackles the challenges of identifying and understanding long-term (complex) activities within video clips, a step forward from traditional Temporal Action Localisation. As I've journeyed through the tech world, one vital lesson has stayed with me: the importance of giving back. It's a phase in our careers that truly shapes who we are and what we can contribute to the future, to the world. Flashback to my final college years - a time filled with uncertainty and daunting prospects about the future. As a young, aspiring professional, the path wasn't clear, especially as a black individual in the tech industry. It was a world where role models who looked like me were scarce. Then came a pivotal moment - a brief, but life-changing conversation with Alfred Chuang. Though it might have been just 10 minutes, it planted a seed of hope in a landscape of uncertainty. I'm excited to announce that I'll be revisiting these memories and more in a fireside chat with none other than Chris Brooks, my favorite professor from my alma mater, USF. We'll dive into my journey, explore the evolving landscape of technology, and share insights on leadership that I've gleaned over the years. #USF #TechLeadership #Inspiration #FiresideChat #GivingBack #DiversityInTech
I'm so very excited to get the opportunity to sit down with Papanii Okai, USF CS alum and CTO/VP of Engineering for Venmo, for a Fireside Chat this Thursday, February 8th from 4:30-5:30pm in McLaren 252! USF community members are invited to join us to hear about Papanii's journey through the tech world and his insights about where we are and what's coming next! You can RSVP here: https://bit.ly/USFCS
