Youth Unemployment refers to the proportion of young people (15-24 years old) who do not have a job at the present time but are actively looking for one. High youth unemployment occurs when there is a mismatch between supply and demand in terms of educational level, when a country´s economy cannot provide enough suitable jobs and when there is a lack of public policy that can facilitate employment. I stand in solidarity of youth unemployment and irregular migration! Let's stop bla bla and be real to what we stand for Let's invest in youths to create an enabling environment and florist as a nation or sink Let's stop faking the system and call out the wolves who puts on sheep clothes or remained in fantasy of so-called development. The Gambia has the potential she needs to grow, but why is she still regarded underdeveloped? To posit that the challenges of *Youth Unemployment* and its concomitant frustration, requires immediate Disruptive Thinking and Responsible Leadership* will only be a matter of merely rehashing what is obvious. While we make this clarion call for all Africans to be fully interested and support the bold initiatives of the African Union Commission* , with respect to *Job Creation and Skills Development, we also urge the *Titans in the Private Sector,* to collaborate with their respective Governments to help address the urgent problem that is flooding away the hope and aspirations of the Youth before it gets out of control. *The Private Sector must redefine their metrics on social Impact.* it's time to talk about *Profit with Purpose* in the face of the daunting challenges facing the Youth. *I urge you to watch this video for updates on AUC's Youth Initiatives.* At the current rate of between *15 to 20 million well-educated young people* expected to join the continent's workforce every year until 2030, according to the *World Economic Forum Capital Index,* coupled with what we are witnessing in Kenya and Nigeria in recent times, there is no hesitation in urging the Private Sector, in particular, to make *Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI)* an integral part of their ethos. I had the honour to participate at the launch of the latest report of the Development Center on informality and to share some comments on the Brazilian experience in the field. Informality and low-paying work should be addressed by different policies and instruments focusing on economic growth, social inclusion, education and training, as well as promotion and facilitation of business and employment, including through the use of efficient and digital tools and public services. I congratulate the Center and the OECD for promoting evidence-based research on all these issues that are extremely relevant for developing economies in Asia, Africa and Latin America. https://lnkd.in/es-7u8iD

Unemployment among #Somali youth is a pressing issue that is negatively impacting the country's economy and stability. With over 70% of the population under the age of 30, the lack of skilled employment opportunities has led many young people to turn to extremist and criminal groups for recruitment. This chronic unemployment not only affects the well-being and quality of life of the youth but also undermines their trust in institutions and future prospects of employment.
