Another fourth big ransomware attack/security data breach in Healthcare industry(life saving at stake for infant,young and old) in same month. It is saddening. Background: Russian hackers who targeted NHS hospitals have demanded a £40 million ransom. Symptom/Function: The group, called Qilin, claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on computer systems run by Synnovis, which provides pathology services to hospitals and GP surgeries in London. Impact: Impeding the treatment of seriously ill children More than 1,100 operations have been postponed as a result of the attack on June 3, which have left three major London hospital trusts struggling to process blood, urine and tissue tests. Outpatient appointments cancelled/postponed/rescheduled. Patients affected, with those waiting for routine blood tests from GP surgeries also impacted. 'Definition of worst of humanity’ The mother of a three-year-old whose kidneys do not work and who depends on dialysis said her daughter’s treatment was disrupted because of the attack. They are directly attacking and targeting babies, toddlers and amazing children at the Evelina Children’s Hospital.
