Success in warfare is gained by carefully accommodating ourselves to the enemy's purpose. You can ensure the safety of your defense if you only hold positions that cannot be attacked.
https://lnkd.in/gVJPm7AT BlackSuit/RoyalLocker is said to be responsible. A Russian ransomware group. The hackers had control nearly 2weeks. Im sure at this point the company is undergoing the remediation and recovery phase. By two weeks post-breach, the focus is on recovering operations, securing systems, communicating transparently, and taking steps to prevent future incidents. The company is likely still actively working on some aspects of these activities but should have made significant progress in stabilizing the situation and moving towards full recovery.

No business or vertical is immune. It's crucial to anticipate and prepare for potential ransomware attacks. Having a robust business resiliency and disaster recovery plan in place is essential for ensuring your organisation can recover from such a cyber incident. At CyberCX, we have supported multiple financial services businesses in developing strategies to assess the risks, determine data critically and technology system recovery methods, and evaluate the reliability of those systems. In times of crisis, it's imperative to have a clear plan for restoring business operations, (both data and application configurations) from a WORM (write once, read many), and having the option to implement minimal viable infrastructure whilst you determine the root cause or look into replatforming options. Recovering from a ransomware attack can be a daunting task, but with the right preparations and response plan, it is possible. Our team has the expertise to guide your business through the process and ensure that you are equipped to handle such a threat. #BusinessResiliency #CyberSecurity #DisasterRecovery #FinancialServices #CrisisManagement #RansomwareRecovery #DataSecurity
CyberCX's Alastair MacGibbon spoke with Bloomberg News to discuss the ransomware attack against Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and share his insights on LockBit, the organisation suspected to be behind the attack. "They claimed responsibility for one in five ransomware incidents in the region last year," Alastair told hosts, Rishaad Salamat and Yvonne Man. "They are the most prolific of the groups, but they are very fragmented. There is LockBit software, and there is LockBit the criminal group, and they rent out that software to other criminals in between. So it is hard for us to know exactly whether it is the computer code versus the criminal group." "What tends to happen is if they have conducted one of these criminal attacks they will claim that attack on their DLS [Dedicated Leak Site], which is their website where they put the data that they steal, and also their claims of criminality," he continued.
