One of the most important aspects of any solar PV installation on a metal roof is wire management, but even seasoned professionals can find this task confusing. From ensuring proper conductor positioning during module installation to keeping wires clear of the roof and seamlessly connecting your array of modules to the inverter, the process demands attention to detail. #MetalRoof #MetalRoofing #Sponsored | S-5!

Substation Design: To Retrofit? To Modernize? To Upgrade? The majority of advancements in electricity systems have been driven by needs in technology, the economy, and society. And in recent times, a significant amount of focus has been placed on the utilization of renewable energy supplies. Electric utilities may explore a number of distinct design methods and approaches when planning for the future, in order to effectively address diverse scenario requirements and accommodate developing needs 1. Keep the most of substation design as its now 2. Modernize an older substation design 3. Construct a new substation using the latest design I found the article very informative, Enjoy! #substation #electricalmodernization #digitilization

As PVFARM continues to gain traction within the industry, we're seeing increased interest in one of its capabilities: repowering projects. We are fortunate to have the smartest superusers who began highlighting the importance of this topic a year ago, playing a pivotal role in helping us develop the repowering functionality. Imagine you developed a project several years ago. With new financial opportunities emerging through Power Purchase Agreements, advanced battery solutions, or other innovations, you decide it's time to repower. Here’s how PVFARM can help with this: 1️⃣ Importing existing solar PV layout from AutoCAD or Civil3D into PVFARM 2️⃣ Upgrading the solar modules across the entire layout while keeping the existing racking system intact. 3️⃣ Overhauling combiner boxes, inverters, and transformers require reblocking and rebalancing the entire layout. 4️⃣ Obtaining instant cost and energy efficiency feedback for different equipment setups to choose the best. Let's dive into concrete data to illustrate the impact: 🔹 Initially, the system with Module LR4-72HBD-425M and a Sungrow 3600 kW central inverter produces 203.1 MWdc across 46 blocks, averaging an Inverter Loading Ratio (ILR) of 1.225. 🔹 Upgrading to Module LR5-72HBD-555M enhances capacity to 265.2 MWdc for the same number of blocks, raising the average ILR to 1.60. 🔹 This upgrade leads to significant inefficiencies unless the combiner boxes, inverters, and transformers are reblocked and rebalanced. 🔹 Retaining the Sungrow 3600 kW with 400 A combiner boxes under the old configuration still allows for a capacity of 265.2 MWdc, but now spread over 58 blocks with an average ILR of 1.27. 🔹 Alternatively, adopting a new Sungrow 4400 kW inverter skid maintains the 265.2 MWdc and 58 blocks while preserving the average ILR at 1.27. Check out the example above explained in more detail in the video below.
