Solar is being more adopted in the construction space especially for job sites with limited grid power. Many who felt that "solar is too fragile for a job site" has not seen the latest generation of solar panels that are know for their flexibility and durability. For one who loves green energy, this news certainly will and should get me excited. While I do not have details of the implementation, though I accept this is still at a policy stage, and I can easily access information on its implementation, I am still of the firm opinion that clearing virgin lands for solar farms cannot be the best approach for us as a country. To save the forest, increase employment and produce more power for industries, the best approach is to mandate residential customers install at least 2kWp Solar systems in their homes and offices. With about 4 million ECG customers, let us assume 50% are residential customers and each customer is able to generate an average of 8kWh daily from their solar systems, that immediately injects or saves 12GWh daily into or from the grid. By this implementation, it immediately creates 2 million jobs for installers or maintenance engineers that can satisfy the needs of the many TVET students being trained. Let us even assume these 2 million jobs are handled by 1000 citizens. It means 1000 citizens can each have 2000 sites and or locations to support. Other job creation areas could be for those in the sales, design and parts. I know there are disadvantages but I believe the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. https://lnkd.in/dp5VFwyK
