This month, Marcus Getta, Dr. Hermann Orth, and Anne Grevener Steen shared insights on strategic asset management in the energy industry. They emphasised that data-driven decisions form the foundation for addressing current challenges in the energy sector. This is particularly important due to the significant investments in energy assets aimed at driving the energy transition.
During the webinar, about 120 participants from 40 countries shared their views. They discussed their main drivers and concerns for increasing the maturity of their asset management.
DRIVERS
65% of the respondents believe that strategic portfolio management is the main driver for increasing the maturity of their organisation’s asset management. This approach facilitates long-term strategies for transforming the optimisation of a sustainable asset portfolio.
Other highly ranked drivers include the optimisation of resource allocation (42%) and risk mitigation (37%).
CHALLENGES
A large share of participants see challenges in the top layer related to a portfolio strategy, which guides from vision to decisions and meeting set targets (40%). They also highlight issues around data as a key enabler for data-driven approaches and decision-making.
