hey hey lovely LinkedIn community - having been at placement for a few days (yes my placement year technically started on a sunday but I get iced coffee daily - win some lose some), I've already written a little sum up for SNS's site - it's kind of wild to me to see my writing on a platform like SNS as I always wanted to be a writer on sites like these when I was younger - maybe dreams do come true? It's written in my usual style of honesty with a sprinkle of humor, a dash of my opinion, and some hope for the future - so if you would like to see just how much those daily coffees are helping to fuel my writing - you can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/exKUcqft So far this whole experience feels like food for thought - plus some good food on the side - the dialogue on interfaith relations, opening the discussion to diverse voices and remembering that we are all ultimately human is incredibly inspiring. And I don't say inspiring just to make it sound cool, I say inspiring because I think part of being inspired is recognizing that you can be inspired by someone regardless of their age, experience, educational background, and so on - and if this little blog for SNS highlights one thing, there is a lot to be inspired about heading into the future.

I heard a question lately that got me thinking: with all the social media feeds and phone games these days, does Gen Z even read books anymore? It's a fair point, considering everyone seems glued to their screens! From my experience, I said yes. My friends and I still enjoy getting wrapped up in a good book. There's something special about immersing yourself in a story, whether a thrilling adventure or something more thought-provoking. Plus, with so many genres, there's something for everyone. But not everyone in my circle agreed. When I talked to some others, their answer was a resounding "NO!". They find reading less engaging compared to the short-form video content. I totally get that. Sometimes, focusing on a book can feel like a chore in our fast-paced world, while watching those cat videos is more addictive. This left me confused. Does Gen Z like books or not? Scrolling through social media, I stumbled upon online communities and forums dedicated to Gen Z book discussions, filled with conversations about literary favorites, recommendations, and reading tips. It was heartening to see such a vibrant community, reinforcing the notion that the love for books is far from extinct in our generation. So, to answer the initial question, yes, Gen Z does read books. However, the rise of digital books might make us look like we're constantly glued to screens for other purposes rather than reading books. And, although it's not necessarily a common habit for everyone in our age group, many of us still love getting lost in a good story, whether it's a physical book or an e-reader. What about you? Are you a bookworm or a social media scroller? #InternshipDiary #SavillsVietnam

Marketing & Communications Lead at Elevate EBP. Connecting professionals, educators and young people to create a growing Liverpool City Region.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲! 👀 Yesterday was a little different for me - instead of my usual behind-the-scenes role, I found myself front and centre at one of our Meet the Professionals events: talking to Year 9s (𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨!) at Weatherhead High about my career journey, how MarComms fits into our local growth sectors, and the skills they can start developing now. I had no reason to feel nervous, the students were friendly, as with all young people some were chattier than others, but it was lovely to meet them. 💛 One conversation stood out; a student mentioned she'd never have considered marketing because it sounded like "just another office job". She didn't understand just how broad the term 'marketing' is, and following our discussion decided that a career in social media in particular might be quite cool. It struck me how many professions might seem unappealing to young people simply because they aren't aware of how varied opportunities within specific sectors are. 🤔 And we, as professionals working in these roles, can bring clarity to that. Now, as I share our volunteering opportunities, I can speak from experience. If you're interested in participating in any of Elevate Education Business Partnership's events, whether you're a seasoned professional or a newcomer, just pop me a message. If I can do it, so can you! #Volunteering #Employability #Careers #CSR #SocialValue

While working my current job, I'm documenting my Online Journey in my private FB Group as I strive to better provide for my Family and inspire others to do likewise. #LeadGeneration #AudienceBuilding #PersonalBranding
Context: "I'm Always Willing to Intern......." "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." —Romans 5:8 I'm reminded of the stories that Robert Kyosaki shared on his audio program. His Rich Dad had him work at his store on Saturday morning for some pity amount. For several weeks, Robert showed up and did the menial work. Finally he mustered up all his courage in his young teenage body and confronted his Rich Dad. His Rich Dad was supposed to he teaching him how to become successful and wealthy not just be inexpensive labor. Congratulations Rich Dad exclaimed you can't get rich on a salary now you are ready to start learning. Then the Journey began, he spent many Saturdays sitting with his Rich Dad and all of his advisers as they discussed Rich Dad's numerous business ventures. Robert started soaking it up like a sponge. Years later Robert wanted to acquire some new skills so he sought out one of the most knowledgeable men in that arena. Robert was willing to work for free just so he could learn from him The man was shocked, people either wanted a job or money from him. In fact Robert was willing to fly to another country on his own money to research an investment property for the gentleman. Again the knowledge and experience was priceless. I have had situations where I appreciated helping others just for the opportunity to be in their presence......... And I'm willing to do similar experiences today for more insights... ****** ".....If You Could Access a Brand New Community… With The Full Overview On How To Make Your First Or Next 6 Figures A Year Online… Would You Want An Invite To Join?........" My Mentors have decided to drastically shake things up in their online business. No, not how they are doing it- thru Content Creation and Community, that isn't changing. They are changing where and how the Community is structured. Both of them will be shutting down their respective FB Groups and consolidating their Community on the Skool platform. It will be a Free Community, that being said, many of their current paid clients are making sales in the Group..... https://lnkd.in/esCy-VQ7

3 Volunteer Opportunities for Undergraduates Last week, after making posts on the role that volunteering plays in gathering experience for a #CV, I received messages from #undergraduates asking how they could volunteer. So, here are 3 ways that you can #volunteer as an undergraduate. The easiest way is to START ON CAMPUS because there are many opportunities to volunteer and gain experience in school. 📍Join a club and figure out a need that you can solve, then fill that gap. For example, you can serve as the PRO or social media manager (even if you know nothing about graphic design or video editing, go on YouTube and learn). 📍Join the team organizing an event. There are always a lot of events happening on campus with multiple events happening on the same day sometimes. This is a big opportunity for you to volunteer, grow your network and learn valuable skills. In a previous post, I said that there is always the need for extra hands, but this need is hardly every advertised. So you would need to ask for it. Once you find out that an event is coming up, find out who the organizers are or any team member and ask for what you can do. Let me add a hack here.... sometimes, step out of your comfort zone and work on something you know nothing about. If you know nothing about media and publicity, maybe you should volunteer with the team working on that. You will be glad you did. 📍Social Impact. This means that you should be a problem solver and it doesn't have to be anything too big. Just look around you and you'll find a problem to solve. If there's a particular course that students find difficult, then organize tutorials to solve that problem. You don't even have to be the tutor, but you just need to be the organizer. Sometimes, a problem you identify could be a business idea that will make you an entrepreneur on campus. After all, entrepreneurship is about solving problems innovatively in a profitable way. ♻️ If you found this post insightful and will be taking action, then REPOST for other undergraduates to do the same. PS: Which point resonated with you the most and what will you be doing differently? Let me know in the comments. #professionaldevelopment #cvwritingtips #lawstudents #volunteering
