Vote “No” on Question 5 in Massachusetts this November. Tip Minimum increase from $15 to $20 will increase the Menu Costs or “Service” fees at your favorite local restaurants, especially smaller restaurant groups. Most Hospitality Workers would go elsewhere if they were looking for a stable bi-weekly paycheck. By increasing the tip minimum to $20, tips will decrease and the industry will lose our most talented individuals. Most Servers land somewhere between $25-$40 with the most competent exceeding that range; the system benefits owner/operators and employees alike. Increasing Tip Minimums hurt the Consumer via increased prices and the Worker by consequently impacting the Earning Potential. Making uninformed decisions hurts people, ask a Server if they would rather make $20 or $45 an hour; you would be outraged if your livelihood was at risk. The California Government can do whatever it wants, leave Massachusetts restaurants alone.

We aim to empower women through providing accommodation, psycho-social support, employment, and training.
Did You Know each meal served during our #GivingbackFridays costs just R14 per plate? As part of our external services, we focus extensively on food security. #GivingBackFridays is our weekly dedication to serving a hot, nutritious meal to those in need in our community. Currently, our #GivingBackFridays costs R7000 per week. We serve about 500 people, which comes down to R14 per plate served. A little does go a long way, and although rising food prices continue to affect our budget, we work hard to stretch every rand by negotiating with grocery suppliers to get the lowest prices on food. How You Can Help: Your contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Here's how you can help us continue serving our community: Donate Food: Our soup kitchen menu and food quantities for #givingbackfridays are available on request. DM or email us [email protected] Sponsor a #GivingBackFriday: Every rand donated goes directly towards purchasing food and supplies. A SARS section 18A certificate can be issued. Get involved, and let's work together to eliminate hunger in our communities. #GivingBackFridays #CommunityOutreach #foodsecurity https://lnkd.in/dmiT6vGa

Retain 70% of donors after 3 gifts?!?! 👀 I saw this video a while back (sorry, GaryV and language) where if you get a customer from one visit --> third, the likelihood of them returning after the 3rd visit is 70%! The same is true according to the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, 3-6 donations retain at 72%; and if you get to 7 , you are at 88% 🔥🔥 Keep at it, and enjoy the video; some ideas translate into the nonprofit space.

“Food is the basic necessities of life, right? Without it, how can you do anything else? And it's really important. Basic needs to get food on the table,” says Josh Kline, LOFT Community Services, Coordinator, Mount Dennis Food Bank. As the cost of living continues to rise 📈, the affordability issue impacts tenants' ability to purchase food. To help tackle this issue, Toronto Community Housing has partnered with tenants and community agencies by supporting food banks and food programs. Watch our first video of our food security food series to hear from TCHC employees, community partners and tenant leaders on how we respond to food insecurity in communities.
