⚡Grid Expansion & Demand Response Essential for Future Energy Stability According to the latest DNV New Power Systems report, as global reliance on fossil fuels diminishes, the electricity demand is set to double by 2050. This increase calls for a significant expansion in global grid infrastructure and innovative demand response strategies to effectively manage the balance between grid supply and rapidly-increasing consumer demands. Key Highlights from the report: ➡ Grid Capacity Expansion: To meet the upcoming demand, the global grid capacity must grow 2.5 times its current size, with an annual investment expected to more than double to USD 970 billion by 2050. ➡Demand Response and Flexibility: The integration of renewable sources like wind and solar, which are set to generate about 70% of electricity by 2050, requires advanced demand response systems.
