I’m going to start sharing some of my favourite ad campaigns, once a week. Every week. 💯 — Why? Well, imagine it’s 1992, you are 8. And TV is one of the highlights of your day. Thundercats, M.A.S.K, Dungeons and Dragons & He-Man all feature heavily 📺, and if you aren’t playing football with your mates trying to be Zinedine Zidane you are weirdly obsessed with TV Adverts. Some cinematic, some attention grabbing, some soundtrack heavy. But ALL that stand out, need to compete, and win airtime. There’s no second chances, no #TikTok or #YouTube remixes, if you missed it, you missed it. You’ve got a short window of time, and stopping someone in thier tracks, starting a conversation and creating an action through the medium of TV was hard. However, today is not about nostalgia. But instead a lesson on simplicity and knowing your market. Škoda Auto placed tiny billboards around Sweden in parking spaces using Christopher Robin Nordström 🎨 , NORD DDB Stockholm understood where thier careful, savvy customers were looking each day.
