BlackRock, the world's largest money manager, is set to acquire Adebayo Ogunlesi's Global Infrastructure Partners in a $12.5bn deal. According to Adebayo Ogunlesi, this is the "golden age of infrastructure". Ogunlesi, an American investment banker and lawyer of Nigerian descent, is the chairman of the company which owns London City Airport, Gatwick Airport, Edinburgh Airport and Ndiovo Transporto Viaggiatori. With two complementary businesses joining forces, we can expect many infrastructure funds to follow the same path as liquidity follows the same direction.
