This is just the kind of poignant story we hear all too often. Imagine, a young child earnestly saving the money left to him by the toothfairy to help buy a car. To lighten the load for underserved families, the mobile dental team provides care to children at school. No special transportation needed. We are honored to provide this peace of mind to parents.

WHAT – Stories have the power to make a difference and create change. In the wake of blockbuster film Sound of Freedom (2023), global awareness of human trafficking is at the forefront of conversation. Join Rahab’s Daughters for our Vision Night event where we will shed light on the dark world of human trafficking. We will discuss how our organization works to educate the community, rescue and rehabilitate survivors, and inform the nation on how to be a part of this important work. WHEN - This informative session will take place virtually, Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 7PM CST. The event is free to the public and requires registration found here. This online meeting will be hosted by celebrity radio personality and tv host Eve Gomez. WHY - No one is safe from human trafficking and no community is immune. The only protection is to learn how to recognize the signs that you or someone else is in danger. Human trafficking doesn’t start with a kidnapping and end with a rescue. It starts with society turning a blind eye. It lasts long after the survivor gets away. That’s where we come in. Through education, outreach, and awareness building, our team shines a light on this $63 billion industry. Through working with hospitals and first responders, we help people escape trafficking. And through compassionate rehab, we help them remake their lives. WHO - Rahab’s Daughters is more than an organization: it is a growing movement of volunteers, donors, action-takers, and world-changers, working together to fight human trafficking. At Rahab’s Daughters, we believe that no one is alone. No matter how dark your situation, our community is here to shine a light, to be a beacon toward a better life. We come together as one to provide compassion, passion, and determination. Together, we give people trapped in modern slavery a chance to take control of their lives. Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Councils bring together leaders in our community to act as a voice for families and children to make sure their needs are met. By involving leaders from social work, education, government agencies, health care, community resources such as food pantries, business and nonprofits, PCA Councils are able to hear from every viewpoint in a community to better protect children and set communities up for success. Whether it is making connections between resources, working together to develop solutions or creating events that highlight the work the community is doing to prevent child abuse, PCA Council members are helping to create a safer and brighter future for families. You can learn more about PCA Councils and find a council in your area by going to scanfw.org/pca-councils

Did you know that nationwide, grandparents, other relatives, and close family friends are raising over 2.4 million children whose parents are unable to care for them? For almost 25 years, grandparents and other relatives have been included in the National Family Caregiver Support Program and the Native American Caregiver Support Program. These successful programs, which are overseen by the Administration for Community Living, provide for five categories of supportive services to grandparent and other relative caregivers aged 55 raising children. States and Area Agencies On Aging can include these important caregivers in their aging plans, and we're providing them the tools to do just that! In this guide from Network managing partner USAging, agencies can find sample language to help develop language for their state and community.
