🎉 Thrilled to announce the opening of our newest Smappee Smartstop in Ostend, marking our first location on the Belgian coast! This state-of-the-art fast charging square, located at the Group Lemahieu & Lempan site, was inaugurated by Smappee CEO Stefan Grosjean with the presence of Mayor Bart Tommelein. Our Smartstop leverages 100% local renewable energy, adapts to variable rates, and uses intelligent control to ensure fast, hassle-free, and cost-effective EV charging with minimal climate impact. With six 240 kW fast chargers, EV drivers can recharge in just 15 minutes before hitting the road. This innovation is a testament to Smappee’s commitment to the energy transition. We’re on track to have 50 Smartstops operational by the end of the year! Mike Lemahieu, CEO of Lemahieu Group, shared his enthusiasm: "Partnering with Smappee was a natural choice for us. Our excess solar energy now powers EVs, benefiting both our community and the environment." Mayor Bart Tommelein added, “This new charging plaza is a significant step towards a more sustainable future for our city, providing our residents, local workers, and tourists with the convenience of 24/7 fast and efficient charging."
