📢 We are truly excited to have started cooperation with eAgronom to help Swedish farmers earn extra income from carbon credits by implementing regenerative farming practices such as low-till, cover cropping, and improved crop diversity. Robin Saluoks, co-founder and CEO of eAgronom, said: “Sweden is one of the most developed agricultural countries in the world. From the stories my father told about his visits to Swedish organic farms, it was innately clear how much farmers in the region care about their soils. eAgronom is going to make every effort to be an excellent partner to local farmers and food value chain stakeholders at each stage of the soil restoration journey.” Matthias Karthäuser, Founder & CEO at Gårdskapital said: “Farmers play an indispensable role both as producers of food and energy and as stewards of the soil. The transition to more climate-friendly methods has enormous benefits from a risk-management perspective and can help farmers reduce input costs. Combined with carbon credit sales via eAgronom, we’ll support farmers in improving both their soil health and financial performance. We’re very enthusiastic about this partnership and ready to help Swedish farmers actively monetize their contributions to carbon drawdown in Swedish agricultural soil.” 🔰 Read more from the press release (links in the comments section) #partnership #gardskapital #eagronom #regenerativeagriculture #carbonfarming #carbonprogram #soilhealth Adam Mikołajczak Silver Bohl

During the American Pecan Council meetings, Charles Rohla presented regenerative pecan courses research efforts to improve soil health and adopt regenerative agriculture. When cultivating pecans, Rohla minimizes tillage, implements cover crops, and incorporates livestock to add benefits to improve both soil fertility and the health of the trees, while also offering opportunities for diversification and extra revenue through practices such as silvopasture. #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #climate #food #pecans https://lnkd.in/eBGYDYeW

Biochar in Agriculture: Ongoing Discoveries at Oasis Vineyard 🌿 When approaching farmers/growers with the idea of biochar in agriculture, the first questions we often receive are: "Has this been applied in a real-world setting?" "Do you have proof of the results?" Fortunately, the Oasis Vineyard field trial answers both of these critical questions. Now in its 7th leaf and 5th harvest, this vineyard continues to showcase positive outcomes from the initial biochar/compost blend application in 2016. 🤩 The sustained benefits and ongoing discoveries not only validate biochar's effectiveness but also underscore its potential for long-term agricultural sustainability. With each passing season, we gain new insights that further support the role of biochar in regenerative farming practices. This ongoing success doesn't just address questions—it opens doors to biochar's untapped potential in revolutionizing agriculture. Today we introduce the Connected Collective ✨ Together with our farmers, we have developed a programme to demonstrate how the principles of regenerative agriculture can be applied while at the same time maintaining the overall profitability of regional agriculture. We call this initiative the Connected Collective because we see it as the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in the value chain. The six principles we have adopted are: 🌱Maintenance of year-round soil cover 🌱Reduced tillage intensity 🌱 Fertilization adapted to location and crop 🌱Optimized cultivation with limited input 🌱Promotion of biodiversity inside and outside the cultivated areas 🌱Involvement of Südzucker farmers What does the initiative represent? The aim of the Connected Collective is to be the gateway to creating improvements in close collaboration with our farmers. But we will only be successful if we involve the entire supply chain, which is why we call it the Connected Collective. #RegenerativeAgriculture #TheConnectedCollective

Weeks ago, I had a participatory meeting with local farmers about importance of upholding indigenous or traditional farming practices. These are traditional knowledge, skills, and techniques passed down through generations in a particular community . In the course of our meeting, we were able to identify some form of indeginous or traditional farming practices which are still relevant today. For example, intercropping, crop rotation, and agroforestry are common practices among indigenous farmers. For some reason local farmers in the community have abandoned indigenous practices which makes farming more sustainable. Thus, Indigenous agricultural practices are often less extractive and better for long-term, full-ecosystem health. Because these practices are ecologically and culturally adapted to sustaining balance within their particular ecological settings, they inherently adhere to a regenerative philosophy. The purpose of this meeting was to highlight the importance of indigenous agriculture practices to farmers and to refocus their minds on this practices.
