GTA is the second highest selling video game franchise of all time. When GTA 1 released. Rockstar hired journalists to write negative publicity about them. YES. INTENTIONALLY. Criticising how violent and sexist the game was. It just became more and more popular. Think about Andrew Tate and Donald Trump whatever you want. I disagree with a lot of what both have to say. But they are genius marketers. You cannot deny that. Because there is no negative publicity. Only publicity. If you are trying to please everybody you will please nobody. Both just became more and more popular with every negative hit piece that targeted them. Their metrics objectively improved. That is due to the arrogance of the legacy media.
