The most obvious method to decarbonize a data center is to reduce the energy used expel the heat produced by the IT equipment. This reduces source energy production which is one of the biggest methods to reduce CO2 output into the atmosphere. Hybrid-Dry/Adiabatic-Cooling (HDAC) can reduce the mechanical cooling energy by up to 60% vs a data center with an mPUE of 1.2. HDAC: The dry coils in a hybrid tower offer superior heat transfer of energy, the use of adiabatic trim (9% of the year) and trim chillers (36% of the year) all contribute to the savings.
