“100% predictability = 0% innovation” (Henrik Kniberg) ➖➖➖➖➖➖ As someone who loves to plan every detail and every second, I've realized that sometimes being open to more uncertainty can lead to unexpectedly good outcomes. So how about we let the coming weeks unfold naturally and embrace the "what if...?" mindset? Not only in our #ProductManagement, but maybe also in personal life 😉

🚀 Embracing Ambiguity: Insights from Bob Holt, Head of Product at N Brown Group 🚀 In the ever-evolving landscape of product management, one thing is certain: ambiguity is unavoidable. But according to Bob Holt, Head of Product at N Brown Group, the key isn't to eliminate ambiguity—it's to navigate it effectively. Bob's perspective challenges the notion that the answer to ambiguity lies in providing clear-cut solutions. Instead, he emphasizes the importance of acknowledging uncertainty and embracing it as an opportunity for growth. As Bob aptly puts it, "The answer is we don't know what we're doing, but these are the things that we're doing to find out what we should be doing." It's about being transparent about the journey of discovery and empowering teams to explore, experiment, and iterate along the way. By weaving this narrative into the fabric of our work, we equip teams with the tools, knowledge, and clarity needed to navigate ambiguity with confidence. This clarity of purpose not only guides decision-making but also empowers individuals to prioritize effectively and say no when necessary. So, as we embark on our product journey, let's embrace the uncertainty, tell our story, and pave the way for success in the face of ambiguity. #ProductManagement #Ambiguity #Leadership

NEED TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING? Just received an email from one of my coachees who started a new job as a senior #productmanager this year. We invested some time in December to plan her #first100days to make sure she was prepared to have the biggest impact possible. She just reviewed her 30-, 60-, and 100-day objectives with her manager. it was a big success! She used a tool I developed to create and manage these objectives. She also has the right mindset to balance knowledge acquisition and direct contribution to her team. How about you? Are you in passive mode in your first 100 days or are you making a demonstrable difference? As we gear up for the new year, it's time to get everything figured out for the next year. Setting a clear plan isn't just about roadmaps; it's about making every decision with our big goals in mind. Here are some of the ways to shape the strategy by product leader: 1. Look Ahead Think of the product journey like a story. We start by making sure our product fits the market. Then, we focus on quickly adding cool features. Finally, we serve our target customers with unique features. It's like going from learning to sprinting and then running a marathon! 2. Explore the Next Big Thing While we keep doing what we do best, let's also look for new exciting opportunities nearby. It's like having a backup plan for our backup plan. Investing some focus time and resources in new ideas can help us grow and create differentiators. 3. Few Big Goals To achieve significant progress, it's crucial to focus on a few big goals. Let's select only 2 to 3 goals for the next year that will make a huge difference. Having numerous goals with limited resources is not practical. Therefore, we should allocate our time, energy, and resources where it matters most. 4. Continuously Measure & Improve Defining milestones, celebrating smaller wins, and improving further are critical. It helps you validate and track whether your strategy is hitting your targets. Let's make the new year a year of exciting plans, growth, and success for all of us! #productstrategy #productleadership #productmanagement
