We received a 750 million CZK contract to overhaul and modernise 43 MVTV2 series catenary maintenance vehicles for Správa železnic, státní organizace. Work will begin this summer at the Šumperk production site, with project completion set for mid-2029. "In Šumperk, we have a long tradition in repairing and modernising rolling stock, including these unique types," said Aleš Měrka, Vice President Service CZ/SK and East at Škoda Group. These vehicles are crucial for checking the geometrical position of the overhead line, its maintenance, and transporting employees and materials. "This collaboration will increase the efficiency and reliability of our vehicles and underline our commitment to providing quality and safe rail services across the country," said Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic, státní organizace. We look forward to contributing to high railway infrastructure standards in the Czech Republic.

Back in 2011, when electric cars were a rare sight globally, we plunged headfirst into developing electric drive systems. At that time, Lithuania had just 5 electric cars registered, and proudly, 3 of those were our creations. 💪 Our journey wasn't without its challenges – piles of burnt IGBTs and motors tested our persistence. But our commitment to developing an efficient powertrain system remained steady. Fast forward to today, and we're thrilled to share that 700 cars in Europe are powered by Elinta Motors! 🌍🔋 And we're not slowing down – we're committed to driving the future of electric mobility! #electricdrivesystems #powertrains #elintamotors

The transition into electrical vehicles (EVs) has proven to be a challenge for fleet managers across Europe. Despite lower operating costs and fewer CO2 emissions, maintaining their residual values has proven difficult. Unfortunately, an EV's value is linked to its power source: lithium-ion batteries. According to data experts, these batteries degrade by 2.3% yearly - and when their state of health falls to 70%, the battery has reached the end of its life. But, there are ways for fleet managers like you to maintain these vehicles RVs, including: 🔌 Optimal charging: You should charge these vehicles at a low rate - ideally, overnight with a 7kW charger installed on a single-phase power supply. Ensure customers keep battery levels between 20 to 80%. 🚗 Vehicle care: EV suppliers always recommend that drivers - your customers - avoid extreme weather, park in shaded areas, and cover in freezing temperatures to maintain battery life. 📊 Collect data: An EV fleet management system will allow you to monitor and optimise the EVs in your fleet. These vehicles automatically collect data on their health, helping you maintain their residual values over time. At Autovista, our products are tailored for fleets like yours. You can observe RV forecasts and access live expert data across Europe. 📞 Prepare your business for the transition to electric - book a call with one of our professionals today. #residualvalue #electricvehicle #residualvaluedata #residualvaluetrends #fleetcompany #automotivedata #automotivemarket #evfleet #electricvehiclecare https://ow.ly/mS8J50Sncnc

Jeepneys are the #1 cultural icon of the #Philippines and there are more than 200,000 of them in service today as public utility vehicles. Originally modeled off jeep wrangler donor vehicles left behind by the US army post WW2, the jeepneys were first created by the eFrancisco Motor Corporation family in 1947. Unfortunately, the jeepney fleets of today are on average 20 years old and account for an estimated 11 tonnes of CO2 emissions each per annum. In total, that is 2.2million tonnes per annum, accounting for 1/3rd of the emissions of the Philippines. The Philippines government has legislated for the jeepneys to be modernised and has stepped up the impetus for a whole of industry transition. Today, we are immensely thrilled to have announced our partnership with Elmer Francisco and the eFrancisco Motor Corporation in our joint mission to electrify the jeepneys of the Philippines, whilst preserving its traditional look and enabling livelihoods and income in the industry to be improved. The opportunity to deliver on our #BCorporation triple bottom line of people, planet and profit is massive - with a total addressable market (TAM) in excess of US$10bn, an annual CO2 emission avoidance opportunity of 2.2million tonnes and estimated 40million persons/trips per day. This will also have collateral benefits for our Tembo e-LV partners and customers in other industries such as #mining and #defence, as we are now able to access lower cost high quality supply chains and assembly and production facilities in the #Philippines and across #Asia. #arowanaimpactcapital #vivopower #tembo #decarbonisation #impactinvesting #asean #philippines

First Mireo Plus B hybrid BEMUs by Siemens Mobility put in operation in Germany A fleet of four two-car catenary-battery trains have entered service on several routes in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The region ordered a total of 27 Mireo Plus B hybrid BEMUs, first unveiled at InnoTrans–2022. According to the manufacturer, the Mireo Plus B with a range of 120 km in battery mode can operate at a maximum speed of 140 km/h, accommodating 120 passengers seated. Two battery containers are installed beneath the floor, holding lithium-ion batteries with a service life of 15 years. According to Albrecht Neumann, CEO Rolling Stock at Siemens Mobility, the operating costs of the new hybrid trains are expected to be 25% lower in comparison with DMUs, and a fleet of 27 vehicles will slash consumption of diesel by 1.8 mln l per year. It is worth noting that, in late March, a sum of €623 mln was allocated by the state government to two Lower Saxony transport authorities, RGB and LNVG, for the purchase of 70 catenary-battery trains. Spiral bevel gears, drive shafts, worm and planetary gearboxes, drive gears, slide bearings and steel bushings in Central-/Eastern Europe
The railway business days in Ostrava. Quite simply the meeting place for the top decision-makers in the railway business. All in one hall, it's still a hive of activity on the last day of the fair. That's how it should be. Incidentally, the Czech locomotives are easy to tell apart: Almost all electric locomotives are from Škoda Plzeň, and those with diesel drive from ČKD Praha. The type of drive wheels, as can be seen in the picture on the left, fits both. #drivegears #bevelgears #locomotives #railwayindustry
